Electron (software framework)

Electron (formerly known as Atom Shell[1]) is the main framework behind two notable open source software applications: GitHub Atom (text editor)[2] and Microsoft Visual Studio Code.[3] GitHub Electron is an open source framework developed by GitHub.[4] Electron allows for the development of desktop GUI applications using the Node.js framework, originally used for the development of backend web applications.
