Davies Gilbert

Davies Gilbert (17671839). [1] He was originally known as Davies Giddy. He took his wife's maiden name, on marriage.

He was a British engineer, author, and political figure. He was president of the Royal Society from 1827 to 1830, and was a Member of Parliament as well.

He was M.P.for Helston 1804 and for Bodmin 1806-32
