Madison University is a distance learning institution located in Gulfport, Mississippi. The University was established to provide non-traditional education to students seeking an alternative to campus based programs. The University offers undergraduate and graduate level degree programs with a student body comprised of over 2500 adult learners.
Accreditation
Madison University is not accredited by an agency which is recognized by the US Department of Education. Despite the widely recognized benefits and accountability of accreditation, some institutions choose, for various reasons, not to participate in an accreditation process. According to the United States Department of Education, it is possible for post secondary educational institutions and programs to elect not to seek accreditation but nevertheless provide a quality post secondary education.
