Welcome to Wikipedia!

Dear 1-54-24: Welcome to Wikipedia, a free and open-content encyclopedia. I hope you enjoy contributing. To help get you settled in, I thought you might find the following pages useful:

Don't worry too much about being perfect. Very few of us are! Just in case you are not perfect, click here to see how you can avoid making common mistakes.

If you are stuck, and looking for help, please come to the New contributors' help page, where experienced Wikipedians can answer any queries you have! Or, you can just type {{helpme}} on your user page, and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions.

Wikipedians try to follow a strict policy of never biting new users. If you are unsure of how to do something, you are welcome to ask a more experienced user such as an administrator. One last bit of advice: please sign any dicussion comment with four tildes (~~~~). The software will automatically convert this into your signature which can be altered in the "Preferences" tab at the top of the screen. I hope I have not overwhelmed you with information. If you need any help just let me know. Once again welcome to Wikipedia, and don't forget to tell us about yourself and be BOLD!

I spent the last 7 years working on my website, doing research and posting articles. I moderated three message boards and posted one article after the other and shared them with everybody when there was no Robotech.com and information was scarce. I'm not a kid you know. Now, some people claim them their own or common knowledge since the board went down and i postponed the site for personal projects. I'm not gonna accept that. I'll restore every single link I can prove that contains some of my source material, you can debate them all if you want. They've been online for 7 years and were seen by thousands of people. If they are not somewhere else besides my computer, I won't, simply as that. It's not my intention to get into an endless argument. By the way, my site has 138 pages of pure and accurate information, do you consider a link to them spam? Have you seen them all? Have you noticed I always included source references and gave proper credits? Were they useless in comparison to the other links posted? Gishdukat 09:16, 10 July 2006 (UTC)Reply

Please refer to Wikipedia:Spam. Spam can be links to your own private website, which you have just acknowledged as such. Wikipedia is not a mere collection of external links. You are, however, encouraged to add content instead of links to the encyclopedia. Wikipedia discourages bare links as opposed to contributed cited text, and discourages adding the same link to many articles. Please read Wikipedia's Welcome and policies before contributing. 1-54-24 11:32, 10 July 2006 (UTC)Reply
