Asterix and the Big Fight is a 1989 animated movie directed by Philippe Grimond. It is based on the Asterix comic book series. The movie has a different plot from the book of the same name. It combines plot elements from Asterix and the Big Fight and Asterix and the Soothsayer. The novelization was titled "Operation Getafix".
In the English Box Set release, rather than using the first English dub, the film was re-dubbed using American actors rather than the English actors of the first dub. This new dub is considered inferior by fans of the original due to it dumbing down the plot and changing parts entirely. [1] [2]
The first English dub featured the voices of Bill Oddie, Bernard Bresslaw, Peter Hawkins, Brian Blessed, Tim Brooke-Taylor and Ron Moody amongst others.
