Please Give me One More ChanceHello I am a newcomer to Wikipedia and now after an experiment, Me and my IP address have been autoblocked. Please Let me edit wikipedia again I will not let you down. I don't care if you watch my contributions carfully in fact, if I make any vandalism I will let you permanently let you kick me off go on with my buisness. <<unblock|I saw the image that said, you have been autoblocked, I was autoblocked by User:The Anome If you need I deleted the whole story because it was to long and sounded like a sympathy puller or whatever, here it is in a nut shell, I wanted to see how wikipedia deals with vandalism so i created User:Jade59 to do some little vandalism (I did not do any major vandalism such as cussing or blanking pages messing with info or vandalising userpages. The User:Jade59 user contributions page clearly shows what I did). I was surprised to see how well they handeled it and now I can't even edit or anyone using my IP, my IP is 74.132.66.199, also my friend User:Oxford88 is also blocked and he detests vandalism so if you can let one person in let User:Oxford88 he loves Wikipedia.>> Please be kind and leave me a message about anything dealing with Wikipedia. Welcome to Esperanza!Welcome, Seadog.M.S, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association. Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow. In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals. If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work! Red linksRed links are links to articles that don't yet exist. If it's likely an article can be written about the subject it's best to leave it alone. If we already have an article about it at another title, you pipe the link. Duplicate links that occur in short succession of each other (in the same screen of an article) or ones where no article can be written that fulfills policy requirements should be deleted. Wikipedia is a work in progress, an red links encourage people to write needed articles, so be careful about removing them. - Mgm|(talk) 21:19, 27 September 2006 (UTC) Moonlight SonataYou're welcome. In fact, I've been encouraged to be bold and made a revision to the opening paragraph. Cheers. JackofOz 20:20, 28 September 2006 (UTC) Re: QuestionGenerally, if people are using talk pages for completely non-Wikipedia related things, they're warned and, if they continue, subsequently blocked under WP:NOT. For instance: Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard#User_strangeness. If it's happening on your own talk page, just ignore it, tell the people to cut it out, blank their comments if they take it too far, and report it on the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents if it keeps going. I think that would be a fair procedure. -- Consumed Crustacean (talk) 21:52, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Oh, and no problem correcting the link on your userpage. -- TheGreatLlama (speak to the Llama!) 01:04, 30 September 2006 (UTC) Delete comments off talk pagesIt's generally a bad idea, especially when those messages are warnings, because it can give the impression you're trying to hide those comments. Instead, I recommend you try Wikipedia:How to archive a talk page. - Mgm|(talk) 04:38, 29 September 2006 (UTC) Picture in signatureWhat worked for me was toggling the preferences between "raw signature" or not. If you use a raw signature, and include double brackets [[ ]] on either side, you should be able to make it work. I did find it pretty counterintuitive though -- I needed to have one window open where I fiddled around with my preferencse, while I experimented in my sandbox on the other. Good luck! QuartierLatin1968 Democratic socialismWell, since you already admire such famous democratic socialist writers as Upton Sinclair, George Orwell, and John Steinbeck, perhaps my job won't be so difficult! It's hard to know where to begin, since I don't know your political reference points; but the basic idea is that democracy is good in government, because it means that the people have an active voice in matters that affect them. In fact, democratic socialists are usually keen to make political democracy more people-friendly by increasing the opportunity for the public to participate directly in decision-making (compare participatory budgeting in Brazil). By the same token, democracy is good in the economy. Under capitalism, the economy bascially answers to investors and shareholders. Their stake is bigger the more money they have, and the more they invest. Companies do what investors want. Whereas, the great majority of people, who have only small investments if they have any at all, must live with the consequences of corporate decisions that we can't affect. To break the cycle, you need to assert public control over what goes on in the economy – either directly, or else indirectly through vigorous regulation. If the public controls the economy directly, that either looks like a consumer co-op (like Mountain Equipment Co-op), or like a worker-managed collective (like Mondragón Cooperative Corporation), or like a state-run enterprise (like the LCBO). We often extend this idea to include small businesses and family farms, which (as a practical matter) can't function without a pretty close relationship to their local communities. That's our basic premise, I'd say. To put it a different way, we refuse the logic of 'market societies' (where everything in society is subject to market impulses) in favour of one where both markets and government are put in service of society. QuartierLatin1968

In response to your question: Willy on Wheels is an infamous vandal who moved pages to unusual new titles, usually the original title ending with "on wheels!" He was blocked, but has created hundreds of sockpuppet accounts so he can still edit. His WP:AIV subpage was deleted in an attempt to prevent honour of vandals. Unfortunately, that means that newer contributors will likely have no idea what's with the mentions of him. "Vandalism on Wheels" seems to be used to refer to page-move vandalism similar to that of Willy's. Thanks for asking, I'd love to answer any future questions! --Gray PorpoisePhocoenidae, not Delphinidae 00:21, 11 October 2006 (UTC) A motto you just added? The trick is to decide which parts to shorten, because everybody has their favorite parts. See Hinduism discussion page. Thanks for your comments. If you have any suggestions for which parts should be trimmed, let me know. HeBhagawan 12:52, 14 October 2006 (UTC) Excellent job on the Festivals section. It is good that it is short. Are you the one responsible for reformating the article to reduce the empty space at the top? If so, good job. I'll look over the other changes right now. HeBhagawan 12:59, 14 October 2006 (UTC) Slow down on your edits for a few minutes. The user who edited immediately before you is a person who usually makes extremely low-quality edits. His usual username is swadhyayee, but today he is editing under only his IP address. Give me a few minutes to go through and fix any bad edits he has made--I want to fix his bad edits without reversing any of the good work you are doing. I'll tell you when I have finished. Thanks! HeBhagawan 13:08, 14 October 2006 (UTC) My name means "O Lord!" or "O God!" It can express either frustration or worship, as in English. However, in Hinduism there is no concept of taking the Lord's name in vain, since it is believed that no bad result could ever come from God's name. HeBhagawan 13:11, 14 October 2006 (UTC) The edits you made are great. Removing the white space was a wonderful idea. Read the Hinduism discussion page (at the very bottom) to answer another question I have. HeBhagawan 13:17, 14 October 2006 (UTC) Thank you for the kind words. I hope you will continue to make contributions to the Hinduism article. HeBhagawan 14:28, 14 October 2006 (UTC) Sure, you can add me if you like. 14:33, 14 October 2006 (UTC) Well it seems that there should at least be something on them. The section near the top called "The Vedas and Later Scriptures" is probably the most important one to keep, because it contains some ideas which also apply to the religion in general. The section called "The Vedas" (at the bottom) should, in my opinion, be deleted. And the Classification of Scriptures Section--well, I'm kind of sitting on the fence about that. HeBhagawan 23:19, 14 October 2006 (UTC) Yes I think it is starting to look pretty good. It might be close to featured status quality. Keep up the good work. One important thing to do is to monitor the page regularly for vandalism and sloppy and low-quality edits. If you don't catch them quickly, then it is hard to repair them without deleting any other good edits that others may have made at the same time. HeBhagawan 16:06, 15 October 2006 (UTC) The Editor's Barnstar
Yes it is important to monitor vandalism. It's also important to watch out for people who come in and just add some sloppy edits to an article without even reading the rest of the article to see whether what they say has already been said, or whether it fits in with the overall organization of the article. Such people may not be vandals exactly, but if their edits aren't monitored they can destroy a good article. The Hinduism article was having some problems with this last week, although the situation seems to have improved now. HeBhagawan 00:12, 17 October 2006 (UTC) Well I've agreed with almost all of your edits so far, but I'm not so sure about the recent one where you deleted the introductory sentences of the "Practices" section. I thought that that sentence was good becasue it summed up the purpose of the various practices. There are many other practices besides the ones listed in the article, and the sentence you deleted could explain the purpose of all of them. What do you think? HeBhagawan 00:17, 17 October 2006 (UTC) Ok I will try to help you nominate the article. First I have to figure out how. HinduismSomeone's gotta do it :) I think they've gotten bored now. Doing vandalism reverts on twelve different pages is absolutely fine, and in fact somewhat encouraged. If you need to revert the same page more than three times in 24 hours due to vandalism (not due to a content dispute) it can often be a good idea to post on AN/I to seek admin help (in cases of persistent vandalism the admins may be needed). --ais523 15:36, 17 October 2006 (UTC) 3RRFirst of all, and this may not be relevant to your situation, 3RR applies to individual articles, so if you revert many times across several articles—as would be common to fix vandalism—that does not break 3RR. Note, however, that edit warring in general in content disputes is prohibited regardless of whether a user is within the numbers on 3RR, but reverting vandalism is not edit warring. Now, if it is one person or on one article, there is little point in reverting repeatedly, the solution is to get administrative attention to block the user or protect the page. —Centrx→talk • 15:38, 17 October 2006 (UTC) Signpost updated for October 16th.![]()

Vandal fightingThanks for your work cleaning up after vandals. It is a great help to the project. I noticed you added the IP 66.193.128.97 to WP:AIV. I checked on this IP and saw it has vandalized only once since 12 Oct. It is possible this is another user with the same IP address. Except in the most severe cases of vandalism, it's best to report vandals at WP:AIV only if they have vandalized after being given a final warning such as {{test3}}, {{test4}}, or {{bv}}. If you are not sure if they vandalized after the final warning, compare the time stamp on the warning to the time of the last bad edit on their contribs. Please keep up the good work cleaning up vandalism, and don't hesitate to use WP:AIV for vandals that persist after being warned. So, I would say that you certainly may become a Hindu. The perception of you by others however, may vary. Some may be more conservative and say your mother must, at least, be Hindu or both your parents. I feel that their basically irrelevant views may be overcome by what we Kashmiris call Yagnopavit, the thread-ceremony for Brahmins. I am not sure how a varna applies to "converts" in Hinduism, but I would imagine if one were to come into Hinduism as a sadhaka, a spiritual aspirant, then he is akin to a Brahmin. The Shaivism of Kashmir, known as Trika Shaivism, among other names, is specifically meant for all to learn and most importantly, practice, regardless of "color, caste or creed". I would like to know how your desire to follow the Sanatan Dharm, as we expound it came about :) that is, if you would like to share it. Namahsivaya! Saiva suj 16:23, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
Far from offended, I was instead delighted, to receive your reply. Also, I can hardly consider your interest immature, instead profound and inspiring. My Lord Shiva bless you on your journey. Catullus 29Yes, I know it looks like vandalism but it really isn't. I'm a classics scholar and Catullus really is sometimes quite vulgar. I appreciate the un-reverting, sometimes it's certainly better to be too vigilant than not enough in fighting vandalism. Avraham 02:52, 26 October 2006 (UTC) No problem, I may do some more Catullus edits in the future, especially on some poems taht haven't yet been translated, or old translations are being used. Is there a way to register in advance or something so I don't send the anti-vandalism people into a frenzy? If not, I guess they'll just do what you did, not the end of the world. Thanks Avraham 03:01, 26 October 2006 (UTC) Hmm, good point about writing VANDALISM; I guess that's exactly what I vandal would do, hunh? Thanks again. Re:Vandal Proof?I used Vandal Proof for a few months, and I thought it was an excellent and useful tool for fighting vandalism. However, I stopped using it after I started using Lupin's Anti-Vandal tool, which works in-browser and basically makes the whole process easier. Also, it does not drain your computer's memory as much as VandalProof did (VP is a separate application though). Lupin's Anti-Vandal Tool works in your monobook, and it works much faster than VandalProof did for me. P.S. Thanks for helping get Nishkid69 blocked. I was so happy to see that I actually had a poser on Wikipedia lol. Nishkid64 23:56, 28 October 2006 (UTC) Random suggestionMaybe you could just make User talk:Seadog.M.S/Userpage a redirect to your talk page, instead of a soft redirect. Thanks Patman!!!!!!!!--Seadog.e 20:56, 30 October 2006 (UTC) Thanks againThanks again for providing your comments on the Hinduism page. I will certainly let you know if there are any questions that come up. I noticed your discussion about conversion to Hinduism. I think that the "conversion" section of the Hinduism article gives a pretty good idea of the different views on this matter. In my personal view, a person is whatever religion they think they are. So if you think you are a Hindu, you are a Hindu; If you think you are a Muslim, you are a Muslim, etc. You don't need the permission of any particular person. There is no Pope in Hinduism to decide who is in and who is out. Also, regarding caste, it depends on whether you think it is a part of the religion, or whether you see caste as just a social institution. If you see it as just a social institution, then it should not be necessary to adopt any particular caste. But there are definately some westerners who have adopted Indian-style castes for themselves. In the final analysis, you are the only one who gets to decide what you want to be. One thing you might want to look into depending on where you live: maybe there is an ashram or temple you would like to go to. I can make one recommendation: There are a number of Hindu temples / ashrams in both India and America associated with the Ramakrishna Mission. Sometimes they are called Vedanta Societies. In America, they typically have a good mix of both Indian Hindus and Americans. Some of the Americans consider themselves Hindus, while others consider themselves Christians, Jews, etc. Everybody is accepted, and complete freedom of opinion is allowed. There are probably other similar orgainzations in the US (I'm not sure if the group Shaiva Suj belongs to has groups in the US or not) but this is the one I'm most familiar with. Here is a link listing the major centers, and there are many smaller groups in other cities. [[4]]. ALso in America the Hare Krishnas (also known as ISKCON) are widespread. However, my sense is that ISKCON may not fit your personal preferences, since they tend to emphasize that their path is the only true path. I have noticed that you mentioned several times that you prefer a more open approach (which I also prefer). Where do you live? HeBhagawan 15:48, 31 October 2006 (UTC)
Hello my friend, Well, I don't have information about every Hindu group/denomination out there, so I will just tell you what I know about. It sounds to me like you could fit into any Hindu group that is open-minded, which is probably a majority of the groups that exist. If you go somewhere, ask the people in charge whether they believe that their path is the only true path, or whether they believe that all paths can lead to the same goal. If you live in a city that has several different Hindu groups you could just try going to several different temples or ashrams and see which ones you like. Probably even a better option is to read some books associated with an organization, and if you like what you read in the books, you can associate with the organization that wrote/published those books. I like the Ramakrishna Mission / Vedanta Society. As with you, reading the Gita was a life changing experience for me. There are two other books that changed my life as well: Vedanta, Voice of Freedom by Swami Vivekananda, and The Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna. I can't recommend these books highly enough. Both of them advocate an inclusive and very spiritual approach to Hinduism. Many people have been influenced by these books regardless of whether they are associated with the Ramakrishna Mission. Because the Ramakrishna Mission is very inclusive and open-minded, its general position on vegetarianism is that it is preferable to be vegetarian, but each person has to make that decision for themselves. Therefore, nobody will be excommunicated or anything if they eat meat. Sri Ramakrishna, though a vegetarian himself, said that a person is blessed if he has love for God, even though he may eat pork. Conversely, he said that a person will not gain much by being vegetarian if his mind is attached to worldly things. So you will find both vegetarians and non-vegetarians in that organization. Another option is that you don't have to belong to any particular denomination at all. Many, many Hindus do not claim to belong to any particular sect. If you are attracted to Sri Rama, you may be a Vaishnava--or you may be simply a Ram bhakta (devotee of Rama) without particularly identifying with Vaishnavism. Be aware that there are many different denominations within Vaishnavism, and some of them are more open-minded and inclusive than others. In the Vedanta Society / Ramakrishna Mission you will find Vaishnavas, Shaivas, Shaktas, and even some Christians and Jews, as well as people who do not identify with any particular sect. One suggestion: Don't go to any organization or guru that charges money. True religion is not something that can be bought and sold. If a religious organization is truely good, the members will give money voluntarily. I hope this is helpful! Hinduism is a wonderful religion, because no matter what your personal taste and temperment might be, you can surely find a path within Hinduism that is right for you. Not everybody has to conform to the same beliefs or practices. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions.--HeBhagawan Hinduism karmaHey there, I would like your input on the discussion at the bottom of the Hinduism discussion page. Thanks! Thanks! Thanks for the award. Sharkface217 23:51, 31 October 2006 (UTC) GandhiGandhi is revered as a saintly political/national leader, but not necessarily a saint. So he is seen as being somewhere in between a saint and a politician, I guess. I think this is the conventional view anyway, but some may consider him a saint. In theory, though, I suppose he could be a saint--after all, Sri Rama was a political figure too, and he is considered not only a saint but also an incarnation of God. I agree with everything you said about Adi Shankara and the Upanishads. They both present wonderful teachings. HeBhagawan 01:01, 1 November 2006 (UTC) There is certainly nothing wrong with following Gandhi's teachings. He was a great Hindu, whether one labels him as a saint or philosopher or anything else. I also agree with many of his political views.HeBhagawan 13:45, 1 November 2006 (UTC) Kama & Artha are lower Purusharths is a wrong statement. One could say for deploring Kama & Artha as lower Purusharths. It could have been said, just to make people move to Dharma & Moksha. Lot of Sanyasees try to deplore Kama & Artha, particularly Jain Sadhus try to create hate in the minds of people living family life. Does one not need money to do one's religious duties or support Sanyasees or Brahmins or religious institutions? Krishna has said in Srimad Bhagawad Geeta that "Kama" is my "Vibhuti." In Hindu doctrines "Kama" is supported confining sexual pleasure with one's wedded spouse in the witness of fire (A form of God), Brahmin and society. Is it possible to conquer "Kama" by any average person? Vishwamitra also sliped. When Krishna declared "Kama" as Krishna's "Vibhuti" who are we to deplore "Kama"? Indian has n' number of Sanyasees. With due respect to Swami Bhaskaranandji, I say that anything said in a particular situation or a context should not be incorporated in an article like Wikipedia which shall remain on a public forum for a long long future. Hope everyone will see the damage being done to Hindusim and restrain from continuing with statements deploring 4 pursuits of life. HelloGreetings. It appears that we have not recently established communication, and to retain our optimally positive status as acquaintance encyclopedists, it is preferable to retain communication in addition. (Sorry, I get carried away when I feel like using complex vocabulary.) Has anything interesting on Wikipedia happened to you recently? It seems that I have gained enough experience that people seem to have started mistaking me for an admin. --Gray PorpoisePhocoenidae, not Delphinidae 23:45, 1 November 2006 (UTC) I like your signature. My own hasn't been changed in awhile, apart from adding the green e. I should work on it. --Gray PorpoisePhocoenidae, not Delphinidae 00:32, 2 November 2006 (UTC) My heart beats for you. When I was younger I was in a public library looking for a good book, I had no idea that a day later my life had changed. Yes I found the Gita I was astonished of it's mastery and it's power, I read it in one day and I carried it with me everyware. My heart beats for you. One thing common, I love Geeta more than anything in my life. If you liked Srimad Bhagawad Geeta and live as veg., you must be Hindu in last birth. To be very honest, I think Geeta says that one must practice one's own birth-religion as it is a match of breast feed. You may be able to find similarity in your religion and doctrines of Geeta. I think, Geeta is complete philosophy. No matter, you consider yourself to be Hindu or by your birth religion if the same is different but you can certainly live by doctrines of Geeta. I don't think, Hinduism will insist for conversion. You can visit temple, do your prayers, carry on idol worship, read Hindu scriptures along with other religions' scriptures, you would be warmly received by any Hindu anywhere. I feel of saluting you for your love of Geeta not because it is Hindu Scripture but it's doctrines are un-disputed for being religion of humans. Your love for music make me see a pure heart beneath you. My love and best wishes to you. Swadhyayee 14:02, 2 November 2006 (UTC) Nice page
