The McDonalds Monopoly 2006 is the latest version of the Monopoly Best Chance Game which was started as an advertising promotion of McDonalds and Hasbro but Best Buy has been actively involved in recent years. The McDonalds Monopoly 2006 Game is starting on October 1.

The McDonalds Monopoly Game has become a very popular American sweepstakes promotion and has been the token game offered by McDonald's with a Monopoly theme. Over the years, the game has been offered in Canada, UK, and Australia. This year the US version of the game is open to residents of U.S., Canada, Guam, Saipan & American Samoa.

In 2001, the promotion was marred with allegations of fraud and was briefly stopped but it was restarted in 2004. The subcontractor hired by McDonald's to organize and promote the game, Simon Marketing, failed to recognize a flaw in its procedures, and the chief of security was able to remove the "most expensive" game pieces, which he then passed to associates who would redeem them and share the proceeds.
