Synopsis
Night at the Museum is an action-adventure-comedy that takes place in the American Museum of Natural History in New York City. Larry Daley (Ben Stiller), a divorced parent has always thought that he's been destined for something big. To replace some retiring night watchmen, Daley accepts what appears to be a menial job as a graveyard-shift security guard at a museum of natural history. During Larry's watch, extraordinary things begin to occur after he accidentally unleashes a curse that brings everything to life:
- Mayans, Roman Gladiators, and cowboys emerge from their dioramas to wage epic battles.
- In his quest for fire, a Neanderthal burns down his own display.
- Attila the Hun (Patrick Gallagher) pillages his neighboring exhibits.
- A skeleton of a Tyrannosaurus rex chases Daley when he disturbs him drinking from the water fountain.
Amidst the chaos, the only person Larry can turn to for advice is a wax figure of President Theodore Roosevelt (Robin Williams), who helps Daley harness the bedlam, stop a notorious plot, and save the museum.
