La Pista della California (California Trail) era una pista per emigranti di circa 4.800 km attraverso la metà occidentale del continente nordamericano dalle città sul fiume Missouri a quello che è ora lo stato della California. Dopo che fu istituita, la prima metà della Pista della California seguiva lo stesso corridoio di sentieri attraverso reticoli di valli fluviali della Pista dell'Oregon e della Pista dei Mormoni, vale a dire le valli dei fiumi Platte, North Platte e Sweetwater fino al Wyoming. Negli attuali stati del Wyoming, dell'Idaho e dello Utah, le piste della California e dell'Oregon si dividono in vari sentieri o scorciatoie differenti.
