Skool Luv Affair è il secondo EP della boy band sudcoreana BTS, pubblicato il 12 febbraio 2014[1].

Descrizione

Il 26 gennaio 2014, la Big Hit Entertainment lanciò un conto alla rovescia sul sito ufficiale dei BTS[2] e il 2 febbraio caricò un trailer promozionale su YouTube[3]. Tre giorni dopo uscì la tracklist[4] e in seguito fu rivelato che il brano apripista si sarebbe intitolato "Boy in Luv"[5]. Il 6 febbraio uscì gratis in streaming il brano "Just One Day"[6], il cui video musicale fu reso pubblico il successivo 6 aprile[7]. Il videoclip di "Boy in Luv" fu caricato un giorno prima dell'uscita del disco[8], stessa data in cui i BTS tennero una conferenza stampa e un concerto di presentazione[9], al quale eseguirono "Boy in Luv" e "Jump" prima dell'inizio delle promozioni ai programmi musicali, che iniziarono il 13 di quello stesso mese[10]. Il 9 aprile cominciarono a portare in televisione "Just One Day"[11].

La riedizione del disco, intitolata Skool Luv Affair Special Addition, fu pubblicata il 14 maggio e comprende tre dischi: un CD con le canzoni e due DVD contenenti i momenti più importanti del concerto tenuto dal gruppo per presentarlo. Contiene due nuove tracce, "Miss Right" e "I Like It (Slow Jam Remix)"; la sua edizione fisica consta inoltre di sei strumentali aggiuntive[12][13][14]. "Miss Right" fu utilizzato come apripista per le promozioni in radio e in TV.

L'album arrivò alla posizione numero 1 nella "Gaon Chart" vendendo circa 86,004 copie. Lo stesso accadde dopo tre mesi con la versione repackage che entrò appunto alla prima posizione vendendo circa 14,852 copie. Il disco raggiunse la posizione numero 3 nella classifica "US Billboard Charts".
