It might be better to remove the frames from these images altogether (Filter → Lens Correction → Crop). Higher resolution images might also be available. I'll do it myself later if nobody beats me to it. nagualdesign 20:35, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
I guess you are right. There are at least a dozen images in Category:Museum Arnhem in Commons with the same sort of watermarks. I will do the cropping myself, and withdraw my request. Is it best to upload them as separate images? I'm afraid Museum Arnhem itself doesn't have a very open collection website (unless I'm missing something). Yes, if you can source higher resolution versions that would be very helpful. Just overwrite the smaller files. The cropping is a bit extra-fiddly because of the slight barrel distortion, as well as the perspective angle. I can do that part in an hour or so. nagualdesign 22:21, 3 March 2021 (UTC)[reply]
