Vahurzpu, there is more, and I can't find stuff on HathiTrust easily. I need "unknown". Pine Bluff Daily Graphic. January 28, 1921. p. 1. {{cite news}}: Cite uses generic title (help). There is material on Newspapers.com--do you or any of your colleagues have full access to that? Thanks, Drmies (talk) 15:29, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Drmies: I've clipped three articles on Henry Lowry from Newspapers.com that appear on page 1 of Pine Bluff Daily Graphic, January 28, 1921. —Bruce1eetalk 15:42, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Bruce1ee, that is fantastic--thank you! Can you help me some more? I see in Pickens that Lowry was written up in various local newspapers, including the Pine Bluff Daily Graphic, on December 26 and 27, 1920 (Pickens also lists the Memphis Commercial Appeal and the Arkansas Gazette). Any chance I can get you to browse around for those articles? Thanks so much! Drmies (talk) 15:49, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Drmies: Searching for "Lowry" and "Lowery" (as it appears to have been misspelt occasionally) yielded nothing in the December 26, 1920 issue of Pine Bluff Daily Graphic; Newspapers.com has no issue of the same newspaper on December 27, 1920 (was the newspaper published on that day?). Newspapers.com has no issues of The Arkansas Gazette after 1836. I can't find The Memphis Commercial Appeal or The Commercial Appeal; I searched all the Memphis newspapers for "Henry Lowry", but found nothing on Newspapers.com beyond the 1890s. Sorry I can't be of more help. —Bruce1eetalk 16:48, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Bruce1ee, you've been a great help already. My source here is this article, and I hope you can see the first page in preview even if you don't have access to JSTOR--it's in the first footnote. Now I don't know if they'd actually mention his name. Whatever you can do, I appreciate. Thanks. Drmies (talk) 20:15, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Drmies: I see the JSTOR footnote lists some of the other names Lowry is referred to the press, and I found these:

  • OK, Bruce1ee, that is excellent--thank you! In the meantime I found this, an archive of clippings that--chillingly--provides a step-by-step account of the murderers as they are moving the victim toward the place of execution. Thanks again, I really appreciate it. Drmies (talk) 21:27, 30 April 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Looking for Sevir Chernetsov's offprint found in Lit. 'Social estate' Soslovie by Editor(end of pdf, name Sergei Frantsouzoff )

For the Amhara people page. On page 442 source 5 of the pdf, Sevir Chernotsov's conclusions according to editor (probably Sergei Frantsouzoff) can be found in lit. social estate' soslovie by editor. I want to verify Sevir Chernotsov's central conclusion regarding Amhara people. Unfortunately i can't find a book title/number, articles anything.

Second question is, whether the PDF of this editor can be regarded as a reliable source about the conclusions of Sevir Chernotsov, if Lit. 'Social estate' Soslovie can't be found here.

Thanks, Dawit S Gondaria (talk) 21:26, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

That seems to just be an explanatory footnote? The editor, rather than the author, wanted to clarify in a footnote that the term Chernetsov used was soslovie, which literally means "social estate" and that this is what the article is referring to with the phrase "ruling feudal class". This isn't a reference. Umimmak (talk) 21:46, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@@Umimmak: I though it was a reference to a literature'/offprint because of lit before social estate, and source 4 en 6 are references to Sevir Chernetsov work. Thanks for the translation. Can this pdf be regarded as a reliable source(question 2) for Sevir Chernetsov conclusion? Dawit S Gondaria (talk) 22:13, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Dawit S Gondaria: I mean to me it seems like it's a reliable source insofar as it's in a scholarly journal, namely Forum for Anthropology and Culture. But if this is for an article about the Amhara, I think it might make more sense to also look at sources about the Amhara themselves, e.g., doi:10.1163/18177565-90000138 or [2], rather than an obituary of Chernetsov, since they'd be able to put his work in the context of larger scholarship? I believe WP:RSN is the venue for asking if a source is reliable if you want further guidance. Umimmak (talk) 22:38, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Dawit S Gondaria: Well i have read the parts of Sevir Chernetsov regarding Amhara, this source(pdf) suggest his central conclusion is one could not decide whether the Amhara were an ethnos, a super-ethnos, or a ruling feudal class in contrast to his work. But thank you for the reference. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Dawit S Gondaria (talkcontribs) 23:07, 1 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Ricky Martin songs reference request

I'm working on Ricky Martin related articles and try to help them reach GA status. Can anyone find data about his 1990s songs chart performance in Latin America? For example, "María", "Livin' la Vida Loca" and "Te Extraño, Te Olvido, Te Amo". I'm currently using El Siglo de Torreón for "The Cup of Life", "Vuelve" and "She Bangs" chart performances in Latin America, if you can find such a similar newspapers or magazines, I would really appreciate it. Plus, if you can find "Vuelve" and "The Cup of Life" chart performance in the countries that are not mentioned in the article, I would also be very thankful. (Countries such as Argentina, Chile, Mexico and etc.)

In addition to the charts, I also need information about their music videos from newspapers and magazines. I couldn't find any reliable sources for "Vuelve" music video. For example, information about where it was filmed, who has directed the video and what is the story and the concept of the video. (The director is mentioned in the article, but the reference is not reliable.)

Unfortunately, I don't know what special magazines or newspapers or etc. should I check, but I'd be very thankful if someone can help me to find sources. As what I used for "She Bangs" and "The Cup of Life", El Siglo de Torreón issues really helped. آرمین هویدایی (talk) 13:56, 4 May 2021 (UTC) {{withdrawn}}[reply]

Airship, aeroplane, aircraft (1958 book)

  • Stubelius, Svante (1958). Airship, aeroplane, aircraft: studies in the history of terms for aircraft in English. pp. 226–229.

Subsequent pages, if on the etymology of "aeroplane", also of interest. For Jospeh Pline, Aeroplane, etc. Not listed at Internet Archive. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 15:38, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Pigsonthewing: I don't have immediate access to this but I think I can request my library to scan the pages. I can specify a few extra pages for your etymology question, do you have any idea how many more it might be? Will 226–235 be enough? DanCherek (talk) 22:33, 4 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@DanCherek: Thank you. 226 is the first page of a chapter or section, so that sounds sensible. But anything mentioning Pline, otherwise. Andy Mabbett (Pigsonthewing); Talk to Andy; Andy's edits 16:03, 5 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

For verification of sources and improving Amhara people and related articles, i need the chapter The differentiation of peoples and cultures.

Thanks, Dawit S Gondaria (talk) 18:34, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Dawit S Gondaria: The 2000 edition of the book is available on Gbooks. --Gazal world (talk) 19:19, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Hello @Gazal world:, the Gbook only allows until page 22, i need the third chapter which starts on page 26 in the 2000 edition, which is unfortunately not freely available. Dawit S Gondaria (talk) 21:26, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Dawit S Gondaria, If so, the requested page range (16–26) is wrong. Do you know what the chapter name is? (t · c) buidhe 22:17, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Buidhe: My bad i confused it with another book, the 3rd chapter The differentiation of peoples and cultures starts from page 26. Dawit S Gondaria (talk) 22:29, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
@Dawit S Gondaria: I am able to see entire Chapter 3 on Google books. See this link. --Gazal world (talk) 22:44, 6 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]
