Caratteristiche tecniche
Viene solitamente schierato come ala oppure come punta centrale. Nei primi anni di carriera fu considerato uno dei più promettenti bomber del Regno Unito.
Carriera
Ha giocato e segnato contro il Middlesbrough due giorni dopo la scomparsa prematura di suo figlio. Dopo questa rete esibisce una maglietta con la scritta «That's for you son» (in lingua italiana Questo è per te, figliolo).[2] . Si trasferisce al Southampton nel mercato invernale 2012 e segna subito nella sua prima partita da titolare l'11/2/12 indossando la maglia numero 11. Il 31 agosto 2012 passa in prestito al Nottingham Forest, squadra che milita nella Championship (serie B inglese).
