Dr. Gero's Androids

Android 8 is the first android seen in the series, and the eighth in the series of androids built by Dr. Gero. He resembles the monster in Frankenstein. He was nicknamed "Eighter" (Hat-chan) by Goku. He then took it on as his real name. He was first seen when Murasaki tried to use him to fight Son Goku as a last resort inside Muscle Tower. He helped take down General White and drive the Red Ribbon Army away from Jingle Village. It was based on the drawing a boy named Nicholas Omafuaire drew from the United States

Android 13

Android 13 is the thirteenth android in the series of androids built by Dr. Gero. He resembles and sounds like a redneck or a hick. He was built along with androids #14 and #15 with the mission of killing Goku. He "evolved" into the much more powerful Super Android 13 after absorbing key components from the defeated Android #14 and Android #15. He was killed by Super Saiyan Son Goku (Super Saiyan Goku) fueled by a Genki Dama. Only the fact that an Android #13 was created, but deemed a failure and subsequently destroyed (meaning that the existance of the movie, as with the rest of them as well as the spin-off series GT, invalidates itself) was mentioned in the manga. However, since Dr. Gero's computer was still building #13 while 17 and 18 were active, it can be assumed that he was not entirely destroyed but stored away as a back-up plan.

His seiyū, Kazuyuki Sogabe, passed away of cancer in the esophagus. Another seiyū who's voice is familiar to Sogabe replaced him for Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 in Japan. In North America, his voice actor is Chuck Huber.

Super Android 13 is a big blue android with red (super saiyan looking) hair. He appears in the Dragonball Z Movie: Super Android 13. He was created after Android #13 absorbed components from the destroyed Android #14 and Android #15. He was destroyed by Super Saiyan Son Goku (Super Saiyan Goku).

Android #14

Android #14 is a large grayish/bluish android with a braided ponytail. He is almost completely silent; the only words he utters are "Son Goku", presumably to emphasize the fact that his sole purpose is to kill Goku. However in the english dub of the movie he does have a few more lines than in the original Japanese dub. Once instance is his fight with Trunks where he says "Little boys shouldn't play with knives..."(meaning Trunks' sword). He was sliced in half by Mirai Trunks, which caused him to explode. After his defeat, two of his parts were absorbed by #13. Only the fact that an Android #14 was created and subsequently destroyed was mentioned in the manga.

Android #15

Android #15 is a small purple android with a large hat, shades and found to consistently be drinking an (assumed) alcoholic beverage. He is the exact opposite of his counterpart 14, as he has many lines and his body structure is short and scrawny compared to #14's large size and muscles. This doesn't seem to affect his power level, though, as DBZ Movie 7 makes it seem as if the two are equal in power. He was decapitated by Super Saiyan Vegeta during their fight. After his defeat, two of his parts were absorbed by #13. Only the fact that an Android #15 was created and subsequently destroyed was mentioned in the manga.

Android #16 is a large android with red hair and a green armor. Unlike other androids, #16 is gentle by nature. His only objective was to kill Goku. His body is destroyed by Perfect Cell, however, his head survives, and requests that Hercule throw him over to the fight, to help Son Gohan control himself. Cell completely destroys #16 after he gets his word, crushing his head and pushing Gohan to go SSJ2.

Android #17 is the brother of Android #18 and the stronger of the two twins once evolved in his Super Form. He was once a human, but was turned into a cyborg by Dr. Gero. His main mission was to kill Goku, but Dr. Gero also made him into a component that would allow Cell to evolve and transform. #17 was absorbed and was killed when Cell was destroyed by Gohan. After being resurrected with the Dragon Balls by Kuririn's request, he chose a life of exile and lived in the wilderness for the rest of the series. In Dragon Ball GT, Dr. Myu and Dr. Gero created another #17. It escaped hell, and fused with the real #17 to become Super 17.

Super Android #17 Template:Appears in:DBGT

Super Android #17 is the result of a fusion between Android 17 and Dr. Myū's copy of Android #17. This results in the powerful and unstoppable being known as Super Android #17 who is an energy-absorbing model like #19 and #20, though it is implied that he might still retain his infinite-energy characteristics, meaning that while he does indeed absorb energy, that energy is retained. He is destroyed by a young Son Goku.

Android #18 is the sister of Android #17 She was once a human, but was turned into a cyborg by Dr. Gero. She was also absorbed by Cell, but during the Cell games, Son Gohan delivered a blow to Cell that made him spit her out. She later married Krillin and had a daughter named Marron.

Android #19 is one of the first Android seen in Dragon Ball Z. He was not particularly strong, but managed to best Goku in battle due to the heart virus that he had contracted. #19 almost killed Goku by draining him of his energy, but he was interrupted by Vegeta who proceeded to kill him. He returns in GT and is easly killed by a ki blast from Gohan

Dr. Gero made himself into a cyborg by implanting his brain into a robot body. He first appeared with Android #19 to kill Goku. After #19 was destroyed by Vegeta, he fled out of fear and with the intention of activating Android #17 and #18. Once he activated them, they quickly rebelled on their creator. #17 kicked his head off and crushed it. In Dragon Ball GT, he helped Dr. Myū create Super Android #17, who later went on to kill both of them.

Cell is Dr. Gero's ultimate creation. He was created from DNA cells of all of the strongest fighters in the universe; the cells were collected by a small device that was disguised as a flying bug.

The project Cell was taking a very long time to complete as Dr. Gero faced his untimely death. However, the computer that Cell was connected to was programmed to keep working on him even after Dr. Gero's death.

A Cell Jr. is a blue, child-like version of Cell. Cell spawned seven of these creatures during his battle with Son Gohan to battle the spectating Z fighters in an effort to make Gohan angry. When Gohan finally did snap, he dispatched them very quickly. They have a vocabulary limited to "Ki!" and "Yah!" in the Japanese version of the anime, but both the FUNimation and Ocean Group dubs of the series taunt the Z Fighters with phrases like "You missed me!" and "Nanana booboo!"

Dr. Wheelo's Androids

Dr. Wheelo

Dr. Wheelo (Dr.ウイロー, also known as Dr. Willow) was a brilliant human scientist who performed experiments in biotechnology. Wheelo's ultimate goal was to modify the human race using his science. Before he could realize his goal he died but Dr. Kochin turned him into a android. His name is a pun on Uiro, a type of Japanese cake.

Dr. Kochin came through for his creator a second time fifty years later when he gathered the Dragon Balls and asked the Eternal Dragon Shenlong to thaw the ice-enshrouded fortress. Freed from his frozen sleep, Wheelo became obsessed with finding the world's strongest man so that his own brain might be transplanted into it. He sent Kochin and four Bio-Men to find this man, and at first they thought it was Master Roshi. But when Kishime, Misokatsun and Ibifurya beat Roshi, Wheelo started to doubt they had the right person.

He then went after Goku's body. When Wheelo's further attempts to subdue Goku met with failure, the enraged scientist decided to kill him and all friends. When that also failed, Wheelo decided to just concentrate the energy contained within his laboratory's power core to destroy the entire world. Goku was able to form a Spirit Bomb and used it to destroy Wheelo for good.

Dr. Kochin

Dr. Kochin was Dr. Wheelo's assistant, who was actually a robot (although he may have originally been human). Even though he appeared old and harmless, Dr. Kochin was actually well-equipped for fighting: his hand could transform into a machine gun, while his cane could hurl energy blasts. Kochin is the one who created the three biomechanical warriors Kishime, Misokatsun and Ibifurya (see below). He gathered the Dragon Balls and used his wish to free Dr. Wheelo from his icy prison in the Tsurumaitsuburi Mountains after fifty years. Kochin was killed when Dr. Wheelo accidentally knocked him over a ledge in the laboratory; his body got too close to the conductor used to power Dr. Wheelo's robot body which caused his body to be electrocuted and he exploded in midair when falling to his demise.

Together, Wheelo and Kochin created several android warriors (referred to as "bio-fighters" in the dub) to do their bidding for them.

  • Kishime, a green fish-like android who could grow multiple electrical whips out of his arms and chest. These he would use to electrocute his opponents. He and Ibifurya fought Goku together, and Kishime was defeated (and almost certainly killed) when Goku hit him hard enough to cause his circuitry to be damaged. The name, Kishime is from kishimen, Nagoya noodles.
  • Ibifurya, a large, muscular pink-skinned android with red hair, Ibifurya could freeze his enemies with a blast of cold air from his hands. He fought Goku alongside Kishime, and was defeated when Goku punched him in the face, sending him flying across the room and through a wall. The name, Ebifurya is from ebifurai, fried prawn. It's Nagoya's food.
  • Misokatsun, the least-threatening looking of all the androids, he was actually (arguably) the most dangerous. Large and fat, Misokatsun could absorb and repel attacks in his huge, rubbery belly, making him difficult to hurt. He was the first of the three to face Goku inside Wheelo's fortress. Goku defeated him by puncturing his skin, causing him to, comically, deflate like a balloon. The name, Misokattsun is from misokatsu, miso cutlet. It's Nagoya's food.
  • Bio-Men, four small, green androids who attack Gohan and Piccolo at the beginning of the film and are later sent to kidnap Master Roshi and Buruma. Although Piccolo kills at least one of them, what happens to the remaining three is unknown, as they disappear following the completion of their mission. They bear more than a passing resemblance to Saibamen.

Other Robots

Metallic

(FUNimation's dub: Major Metallitron)

Metallic is a large Android who Son Goku was forced to fight on the third floor of Muscle Tower. Goku went into a huge fight with this enormous robot. Goku tried all he could to fight him, but Metallic was so hard, Goku kept getting numb hands. Goku used his Kamehameha to blow his head and a little bit of his clothes off. Metallic went after him again for one more attack, but his energy ran out before he could finish the fight. Goku just left him there proceeded up the tower. In the manga, his name is Full Metal Jacket.

While he resembles a white man with purple hair in the original series, he was changed to resemble a black man in The Path to Power.

Hatchhyack

Hatchhyack as a robot.

A machine from the Famicom & PlayDia game, Dragon Ball Z Gaiden: Plan to Eradicate the Saiyans built by Dr. Raichi. His plan was to use Hatchhyack to get revenge on the Saiyans. Hatchhyack is a device powered by the hate of the Tsufurujin. He is first used to generate ghost warriors until he manifests in a powerful android body. Hatchhyack devastated the heroes, until the Super Saiyans all combined their powers together into one massive wave of energy that defeated him, ending the threat of the ghost warriors.

File:Giru.gif
Giru

Giru (ギル, also known as Gill and Gil) is a small robot that Pan, Trunks and Goku encounter in space. The first thing he did was eat the Dragon Radar, so the others are forced to take him along. He was originally working for Rilldo, and was supposed to be trying to lure the Saiyans to his planet so Doctor Myū could experiment on them. Giru, however, lost his memory before Goku and his friends found him, and although he recovered his memory later on, he realized how good the Saiyans were to him, especially Pan, and helped to rescue them from Rilldo. He accompanied them back to earth and then took the role of the Dragon Radar, albeit one that can talk. The name Giru is a pun on gear.

General Rilldo was the top officer and administrator of "Planet M2," the mechanical world that serves as Dr. Myuu's base of operations. General Rilldo was ordered to bring the Saiyans (Pan, Trunks, and Goku) and the Dragon Balls to Dr. Myuu. He is able to turn beings into metal slates, and merge into metal. He cannot be defeated unless there is no metal in the area. He was later killed by Bebi.

The Sigma Force was a group of four robots that act as Rilldo's soldiers. They have the ability to merge with Rilldo to make him much stronger.
