"The Shroud (Stargate SG-1)"

SG-1 finds a village previously visited by an Ori Prior. Instead of threatening the villagers to follow the Ori or die, he showed them the positive merits of Origin. The team is very confused and feel Adria might be trying a different approach for spreading Origin.

A villager tells the head of the village the Prior has returned; the team informs him they would prefer not to be seen. A hooded Prior asks the village leader for their answer. Before giving an answer, he wants to know more about the Ori and their ways. The Prior removes his hood and to the shock of the team, is revealed to be Daniel Jackson. The team returns to Earth to inform General Landry.

While reciting Ori teachings to the villagers, Daniel is transported onto the Odyssey. He appears before Mitchell and Teal'c, who hold him at gunpoint. Daniel says “What took you guys so long?” but before he has a chance to say anything further, he is knocked out by Mitchell. Daniel is physically restrained, and a device is used to inhibit his powers as a Prior. The team is shocked to hear Jackson speaking normally and making no threats on their lives, unlike past incapacitated Priors. Daniel explains that Merlin protected Daniel’s mind from Adria, and he let himself be captured. Daniel says he could not let the ancient device fall into the hands of Adria. Vala retorts “You gave in." To which Daniel replies "More or less."

Daniel describes the events following his capture. He led Adria to believe she held control over him, letting her explain the Ori teachings. While listening to her preach, he says "it was as if she was inside my head." Merlin's consciousness however was able to protect Daniel. A kiss from Adria, and a glow from her amulet, transform Daniel into a Prior of the Ori.

Daniel reveals Merlin's plan to SG-1. By letting the Orici believe he was converted to Origin, he was able to work with Adria to complete the Ancient weapon. Adria hoped the weapon would lead to a swift end to the war with the Ancients. However Daniel planned to complete the weapon and pilot an Ori ship through the super-gate to eliminate the Ori. Carter reminds him that the supergate is currently being blocked by the black hole in the Pegasus Galaxy. Daniel, or rather Merlin, explains the gate connection can broken. The plan requires the assistance of Sg-1.

General O’Neill, now at the SGC, is briefed by the team. He decides to have a talk with Daniel. Upon seeing Daniel in his Prior attire he remarks, "This is new.” They delve into a heated discussion about their personal lives, with Daniel bringing up Ba'al's repetitive killing of O’Neill, which Jack asked Daniel never to talk about again. Daniel explains he has very little time in which to execute his plan, as Adria will be growing suspicious as to why he has not returned. Furthermore, Merlin has changed Daniel's DNA so that after a certain amount of time he will revert to his normal state, minus Merlin’s powers. O’Neill, still unsure about the plan asks how they are going to prevent the gate from opening again. Daniel says using a Mark IX Gate Buster behind the gate will disconnect the wormhole. O’Neill asks how he knows that, to which Daniel replies, “Hello?! Merlin!” and asks them to have some faith in the plan.

Teal'c then questions Daniel and asks why Adria is not suspicious about leaving Merlin’s weapon unfinished. Daniel tells him that she told him to wait as she feared the ancients would take action if it was completed. Daniel continues to say the Ori need the entire galaxy converted in order to distract the Ancients while they use the weapon from a safe distance.

Woolsey hesitantly informs them that they considered all the evidence and that there is no viable option, and Jackson’s life will be terminated immediately. Vala, sitting on Jackson’s lap, begins to talk to him. Vala has a plan. Jackson questions but Vala responds that she, “Has to plan the plan that she is going to plan”. Jackson doesn’t believe that Vala trusts him. She asks him to consider if their roles were reversed, and says considering how dangerous and powerful Adria is, they can’t take Jackson’s sole word for it. If he is lying, it could mean the Ori’s final victory, and domination of the galaxy.

O’Neill challenges Woolsey over Jackson, claiming that if they don't trust him, “We have lost the best chance to stop this.” After a “crazy” talk with the SG team, O’Neill goes to Jackson to get intel on the Ori ship with the weapon on it - “Why shouldn’t he tells us the information.” His plan is for the Daedalus to shut the gate down in the Pegasuus Galaxy, allowing the Ori ship with the ancient weapon to be sent through, but also allowing the Ori to possible initiate a new wormhole and send more reinforcements. Woolsey visits Daniel to tell him that with the information given to him - that he is to be frozen in stasis, beamed straight into the ancient pod in Antarctica. There is a delay and Daniel frees himself. Knocking the guards out the room and locking the door, with Woolsey in the room with him. Daniel beams down Woolsey and beams up O’Neill. “What’s up? " “I’m taking the ship.” “I can see that." ”I need your help."

Using the rings, SG-1 are beamed aboard the Ori ship and, after encountering some resistance, find the device and the needed pieces. Vala places the stone in the device. The Ori ship goes into hyperspace and Carter seals off the level so no more guards can appear. Travelling on Odyssey O’Neill comments on how Jackson looks like “Marcelle Marceaux” (A famous French mime). Jackson feels that he is needed and that only he can perform this task to defeat the Ori. He also comments that he didn’t want to be frozen by Woolsey and O’Neill agrees, saying, “[He] wouldn’t either.”

Vala starts assembling the weapon piece by piece, with Mitchell commenting on how there is always one left. He is right, as one remains, but Vala says that that piece will activate the device leaving them five minutes until its activation. Upon its completion Vala is surprised not to see an ancient being appear to take the device away from them.

After exiting the hyperspace window, they see a Ori ship sitting in front of the super-gate, blocking their way. Ori guards appear behind Vala and Mitchell with weapons drawn, and Mitchell carefully questions Carter on his walkie-talkie. He thought she locked the level off - Carter replies that she "Thought she did.” as Adria stands before her.

The Odyssey exits hyperspace and immediately cloaks. O’Neill comments that the Ori ships can see them, but Jackson tells him he activated the cloak. This is despite, as O’Neill points out, “The ship doesn’t have cloak”. Jackson says that it does now, thanks to the ZPM. They make preparations to interrupt the gate.

Jackson beams to the ship and questions Carter and Teal’c about his plan, but they refuse to answer. He turns to Adria and fires a blast in conjunction with the anti-Ori device, and she is knocked unconscience. Jackson shows the device to Carter and tells him O’Neill is on the Odyssey. Jackson now weak, gets to the command chair and tells Carter and Teal’c to arm the ancient device. They take out the guards, and with Vala and Mitchell, arm the device. Jackson moves the other Ori ship away from the gate and tells O’Neill to get Daedalus to execute the plan. The super-gate shuts down and Jackson opens the gate and directs the Ori ship towards it. The SG-1 team arrive at Jackson’s ___location again and find him unconscious and back to normal form. Carter tells O’Neill to beam them over, while Vala worries about Adria as they are beamed over without her. The ship enters the wormhole and the gate shuts down.

Back at the SGC, Jackson wakes up and O’Neill says, “Hey sleepy head.” Jackson convinces O' Neill that he no longer has Merlin's consciousness within him. The team ponder whether the device worked or not. Carter informs the rest that the super-gate just started dialing and it soon activates. On the bridge, the entire team see a number of Ori ships coming through. Mitchell comments that, “In the long run, this event might win this war” as eight Ori ships go to hyperspace.
