The lists consists of three sub-lists. In the first place an alphabetical list of party names in English (also when the native name is more commonly used), in the second place a list of party names in native languages when no English translation is available and in the third place an alphabetical list of party names in native languages when these names are more commonly used in English-speaking sources. In the alphabetical order the article The is most of the time not included. An exception is The Greens and similar names. For pages on parties the general rule on naming applies. That means: the pages are named the English translation and the original native name is placed on the first line of the article unless the native form is more commonly used in English than the English form. Examples of the last are names of organizations in India, Ireland, Israel, Nepal, Pakistan, Philippines, Quebec, Sri Lanka (English is or was an official language in most of these countries, which lead to the general use of the native name) as well as some in Spain (Batasuna), Indonesia (Golkar), Iran (Mujahedden al-Khalq), Russia (Yabloko and Rodina, Taiwan (Kuo Min Tang) and Cambodia (Khmer rouge).
