Loyola Blakefield is a Jesuit college preparatory school in Towson, Maryland. The school is a single-sex institution serving boys from grades 6-12.
Loyola was founded in in Baltimore in 1852 in conjunction with Loyola College. The school moved from its original ___location on Calvert Street to its present ___location in Towson in 1941 with the help of a grant from the Blake family. A middle school was incorporated in the 1980's and its name was changed from Loyola High School to Loyola Blakefield.
Loyola's campus covers 72 acres of land off of Chestnut Ave. in Towson. Its main buildings are Burk and Wheeler Halls-academic buildings, Xavier Hall-the administration building and Jesuit residence, and Knott Hall-the dining hall and athletic facilities.
Loyola's mascot is the Don.
