Steve Rushin

Steve Rushin (b. September 22, 1966) wrote a weekly column, Air and Space, for Sports Illustrated magazine. Formerly labeled Steve Rushin's Air and Space, the column ran from 1998-2007 and concentrated on subjects within and sometimes tangential to sports.

He was named the 2005 National Sportswriter of the Year by the National Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association.

He is married to college basketball analyst and former basketball player Rebecca Lobo. They have two daughters, Siobhan and Maeve, and reside in Connecticut.

Rushin is the author of Road Swing: One Fan's Journey Into the Soul of America's Sports (1998) and The Caddie Was Reindeer (2004).

Rushin left Sports Illustrated in February 2007.

He is a graduate of Marquette University in Milwaukee, WI.
