Robbie Ryan
Robbie Ryan (Dublino, 1970) è un direttore della fotografia irlandese. Ha diretto la fotografia cinematografica in oltre 80 progetti cinematografici, tra cui lungometraggi, cortometraggi, spot pubblicitari e video musicali.[1]
Biografia
Ryan è nato in Irlanda. All'età di 14 anni, decise che voleva diventare un direttore della fotografia.[2] Ha frequentato e si è diplomato al Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design & Technology. Ryan è un frequente collaboratore dei film di Andrea Arnold, tra cui Wasp, Red Road, Fish Tank, Cime tempestose e American Honey.[3][4] Ha lavorato con Ken Loach nei film La parte degli angeli (The Angels' Share), Jimmy's Hall - Una storia d'amore e libertà, Io, Daniel Blake. Ha lavorato come direttore della fotografia per film come Philomena, Slow West e La favorita, il secondo dei quali gli è valso una nomination per l'Oscar per la migliore fotografia ai premi Oscar 2019.[5]
