Peter Debruge of Variety gave the film a positive review and wrote, "A frequent chronicler of power games between the sexes, LaBute excels at this kind of loaded repartee, in which characters communicate their intentions via subtext."[1]
Josh Korngut of Dread Central awarded the film three and a half stars out of five and wrote that the film "manages to make a home of its own in a well-worn subgenre with originality, tension, and charm."[2]
