Background
Described as Neptune High's "obligatory psychotic jackass" by Veronica's voice-over narration in the show's pilot episode, Logan was originally conceived of as the school's main bully and a teenaged nemesis for Veronica Mars. But as the show progressed during the first season, Veronica (and the viewers of the show) would discover that Logan was much more than the cliched description Veronica had bestowed upon him in the pilot.
The abused son of superstar movie actor Aaron Echolls, Logan was the on-again, off-again boyfriend of the deceased Lilly Kane and close friends with Veronica Mars and her then-boyfriend Duncan Kane. Logan's life was torn apart when Lilly was murdered and Keith Mars publicly accused Jake Kane, father of Lilly and Duncan, of the crime. Logan was horrified by the accusation, and when Veronica refused to renounce her father, Logan quickly moved to blackball Veronica from the popular "09er" crowd.
Logan's hatred for Veronica subsided with time, and the two later found themselves locked into a complicated love/hate relationship that would make the "Logan Echolls" character one of the most beloved on the show.
Family life
Logan Echolls is the youngest child in the Echolls family. His older half-sister (later retconned as adopted sister) Trina left the family to pursue an acting career without much success.
While Logan loved his mother Lynn, his relationship with his abusive father Aaron was incredibly hostile. Throughout seasons 1 and 2 he is seen violently grabbing Logan, throwing him to the ground, threatening him, and whipping him with a belt. Veronica finds out Logan's father has also burned him with cigarettes and has broken his nose before. Logan receives little comfort from his mother, who has turned to pills to distract herself from her husband's adultery and abuse of her son. Trina, their father's favorite, appears to be skeptical of Logan's claims of abuse. Logan hides his dysfunctional home life from his friends at school, where he acts out his frustrations with his parents with his fellow students by bullying weaker students and flaunting his status as a member of the wealthy '09er community in front of less affluent students.
Ultimately, the Echolls family self-destructs when Aaron Echolls' former lover stabs him at a family Christmas party. After the public revelation of her husband's infidelity, Lynn Echolls leaks stories of Aaron's other affairs to further damage Aaron's public image. When Aaron angrily confronts Lynn, she vows to divorce him. When Aaron threatens to use all of his resources to destroy his wife's life if she leaves him, Lynn has an emotional breakdown, fleeing from Aaron and Logan. She drives to the Coronado Bridge and jumps off, to her apparent death (no body is found, as show creator Rob Thomas wanted to leave the door open to bring the character back).
His wife's suicide shamed Aaron so much that he retired from acting and concentrated his energies on trying to save his disintegrating relationship with his son. This uncharacteristic attempt at kindness failed, however, when Veronica Mars revealed that Aaron was the one who had murdered Logan's girlfriend, Lilly Kane, after having an affair with her. Lilly had discovered that Aaron had recorded the two of them having sex, and fled with the tapes. Aaron confronted her outside the Kane estate, and killed her with a heavy ashtray.
After threatening Veronica's life, Aaron went on trial and, with help from con artist turned '09er trophy wife Kendall Casablancas, successfully mounted a defense. The defense blamed Duncan for his sister's murder, denied the affair between Aaron and Lilly, and accused Veronica of lying about Aaron's attempt to kill her when she found out the truth about Lilly's murder. Aaron's scheme was unwittingly and ironically helped by his son Logan. When Logan discovered that a Sheriff's deputy had stolen the sex tapes and was offering to sell them to the highest bidder, Logan purchased the tapes and, after masochistically watching his beloved girlfriend make love to his hated father, erased them. When confronted, Logan argued that he destroyed the tapes out of a need to preserve his remaining memories of Lilly by preventing the tapes from ever being leaked to the public, not out of a need to protect his father.
Logan confessed in court to destroying crucial police evidence, even though the confession could have resulted in his being arrested for tampering with evidence. However, Logan was pardoned on the condition that he testify against his father.
Once acquitted, Aaron made a last-ditch effort to reconcile with his son by forcibly reminding Logan that, as a free man, he now controlled the family fortune. (Logan had gained power-of-attorney over his father's wealth while Aaron was awaiting trial.) Ominously, Aaron threatened to cut off his wayward son's finances, but never had a chance to carry out his threat. Duncan Kane, furious that his sister's murderer had gotten away with the crime, arranged for Aaron to be murdered by Clarence Wiedman (the head of security for Kane Software) in the hotel room Aaron was staying in.
In season three, it is revealed that Logan had an older half-brother; his father had an illegitimate child from an affair with a flight attendant. Logan discovers his half-brother, Charlie Stone, when he gets help from Veronica to investigate the disappearance of trust money left to him after Aaron's death. Aaron's relationship with Charlie was only through an agreement of payment that was set up through a children’s foundation — which was used as a front to keep Charlie's identity a secret from the public.
Logan eventually agreed to meet with his long-lost half-brother. However, Logan has been tricked by a reporter who knew of the love child and acted as Charlie to get the insider's scoop for a Vanity Fair article; the story is ultimately dropped when Logan makes a pre-emptory appearance on Larry King Live and announces the scandal. Logan's real half-brother ignores all of Logan's calls, angered that Logan exposed him to media scrutiny and destroyed what normal life he may have had.
Relationship with Veronica
In various season one flashbacks, it was shown that Logan was friends with Veronica Mars and that, along with Lilly Kane and her brother Duncan, were part of a close-knit clique that was at the center of Neptune High's '09er social scene. The two were portrayed as being close, although even Veronica did not know about Logan's abuse at the hands of his father.
But this would not last, as the seeds for the inevitable falling out between the two friends began when Veronica caught Logan cheating on Lilly Kane with a new transfer student (the daughter of a famous rap music producer). Lilly refused to associate with Logan after learning of her boyfriend's infidelity and Logan quickly realized that it was Veronica who had ratted him out to his girlfriend. Years later, Logan would confide to his school's guidance counselor that this was the catalyst for Logan's betrayal of Veronica, as Logan rationalized to himself that had Lilly not broken up with him, that he would have been with Lilly at the moment she was attacked and could have fought off the attacker and saved Lilly's life.
When Lilly was murdered, Logan held his tongue but soon found his excuse to vent his burning hatred towards Veronica, when two events happened that gave him the excuse to betray Veronica. The first event was the theft from the Sherriff's department and appearance on the Internet of police video footage showing Lilly's dead body. The second event was when Veronica's father, then-Sheriff Keith Mars, publicly accused Lilly and Duncan's father of murdering his own daughter. Consumed with anger, Logan gave Veronica an ultimatum: publicly denounce her father for falsely accusing Jake Kane of murder, or be declared "dead" by Logan and the teen '09er crowd. Veronica stood by her father, leading to Logan blacklisting Veronica at school and turning her into a pariah.
With Lilly dead, Duncan becoming emotionally distant and apathetic towards the '09er social scene, and Veronica persona non-grata, Logan became the defacto leader of the Neptune High '09er community. Surrounding himself with a new inner circle that consisted of fellow social snobs (Madison Sinclair and Dick Casablancas), Logan began a reign of terror that played into the ever-present class warfare that existed among the teens at Neptune High. His grief for his dead girlfriend and the increasing amount of physical abuse he was secretly suffering at the hands of his father, led to a rather large increase in Logan's public misbehavior. This in turn led to Veronica's christening of her former friend turned enemy with the moniker "obligatory psychotic jackass".
His disdain for Veronica came to a head when, one winter's night, Veronica crashed an '09er party. Shortly after Veronica's arrival, Madison Sinclair gave Veronica a drink that had been given to her by her own on-again, off-again boyfriend Dick Casablancas. Unknown to Madison, Dick had placed a date-rape drug (supplied to him by Logan) in her drink, in order to ensure that he could have sex with the normally sexually chaste Madison that night. Veronica fell unconscious instead. Further adding to the misbehavior was Logan organizing the party guests into molesting an unconscious Veronica, culminating in Logan arranging for his fellow partiers to take "body shots" off of the now helpless (and unconscious) Veronica.
When Duncan Kane (also at the party and watching in horror at the mistreatment of his ex-girlfriend) came to Veronica's defense and dragged her away from Logan's mob of partiers, Logan decided to secretly use the same drugs used on Veronica on Duncan; drugging his drink in a desperate attempt to cause the unusually tense Duncan to relax. In his drugged state, Duncan placed the unconscious Veronica in an empty bedroom where they had sex.
The date-rape drugs ensured that Veronica would only have vague memories of the night at best, but when morning came Veronica was quite aware that she had had sex, though unable to consent. Duncan fled in the morning, because he still thought that Veronica was his half-sister. It would not be until over a year later that Veronica would learn the role Logan played.
At the start of the series, Veronica and Logan are both adversaries. Logan mocks Veronica's mother (an alcoholic who abandoned her family), and Veronica arranges for Logan to be suspended by planting a bong in his locker. Logan responded by gathering a gang of male '09ers and vandalizing Veronica's car. Logan's gang is stopped from causing major damage by the arrival of Eli “Weevil” Navarro, a fellow high school student who Veronica had befriended.
The only common ground that exists by this point is Duncan Kane, who Logan has remained friends with even though Duncan himself refrains from participating in the bulk of the activities of Logan's new clique. Duncan is moody, very depressed, withdrawn from his fellow peers, and still very much in love with Veronica. Logan attempts to use Duncan's presence in social situations to reach out to Veronica, in hopes that Veronica might bring his friend back to life. But Veronica refuses, partly out of disdain for what Logan has become and partly out of a desire to stay away from Duncan due to the cold way Duncan ended their relationship before Lilly's death. This only intensifies Logan's hate for Veronica.
The relationship between Logan and Veronica would begin to thaw when Logan volunteered to create a tribute video for the Kane family for their slain daughter, which would play at the dedication of a memorial fountain at Neptune High. Despite his desire to create a tribute for his ex-girlfriend and best friend, Logan was frustrated at the fact that the Kane family only provided him home movies and photos of Lilly to work with. In Logan's eyes, none of the material captured Lilly's true nature, the side of her that her friends, her brother, and her classmates knew and loved. When Veronica learned about Logan's project, she volunteered a video tape that was shot a year before Lilly's death. The video, shot the night of group's 9th Grade Homecoming Dance, showed Lilly with Duncan, Logan, and Veronica, having fun. Logan thanked Veronica and used the footage of the four in the video tribute.
Logan and Veronica's relationship thawed for good after Logan's mother committed suicide. Believing that his mother could still be alive, Logan hired Veronica to investigate the possibility of his mother being alive. Veronica agreed and while the investigation failed to provide the answer Logan was looking for, the time together was enough to cause the two to abandon old grudges. Their relationship further grew when Logan saved Veronica from a young, undercover ATF agent, who was seeking to frame a local bully for plotting to blow up Neptune High.
At this point, Veronica and Logan began dating, though Veronica insisted that they keep their relationship a secret due to a variety of factors (mainly Logan's clique still hating Veronica and fear of how their mutual friend Duncan would react). In the episode "A Trip to the Dentist", their relationship went public when Logan's father made a cheesy attempt to make up for lost time with his son by throwing a surprise "birthday" party. Logan and Veronica walked into his house kissing, only to find his friends (including Duncan) waiting for them. As his friends reacted in shock at Logan being caught red-handedly kissing the girl he had spent over a year demonizing, Logan openly told the 09ers that were present that if any of them refused to accept Veronica as his new girlfriend, they were "pretty much dead" to Logan.
Logan's announcement of his love for Veronica and willingness to stand up for her to his friends helped soften the blow when Veronica learned that Logan indirectly provided the drugs that led to Veronica being raped. While she was initially furious at Logan, her anger was lessened when she learned that Madison Sinclair was also responsible (granted unknowingly) for what had happened to her and that Madison, not Logan, had spread slanderous rumors about Veronica being a slut around Neptune High. When Veronica confronted Logan, she forgave him for what he did to her, and this led to Logan revealing that he had given Duncan the drugs that led to his having sex with Veronica. However, she readily forgave him again.
But things fell apart for Veronica when she found hidden video cameras in Logan's pool house, where he had taken Veronica in order to make out. At the time, she did not know that they were Aaron's cameras and that Logan had no knowledge of them. Furthermore, in the season one episode "Leave It to Beaver", Veronica (and the viewers) learn that Logan had Dick and Cassidy Casablancas give a false alibi for the day that Lilly Kane was murdered.
Despite his brother's demands that the two keep their word to Logan about his alibi, Cassidy (later known to be a sociopath) eagerly told Veronica that Logan had left the Casablancas brothers early during a trip to Tijuana to see Lilly. Logan had learned that Lilly had a new boyfriend (Weevil, though by this point, Lilly had dumped Weevil and moved on to Logan's father Aaron). This disclosure invalidated Logan's alibi and made Veronica fear that Logan was the real murderer of Lilly Kane. As her father cleared Abel Koontz (the man convicted of murdering Lilly) of the murder, Veronica convinced Sheriff Lamb to arrest Logan for Lilly's death. Logan was oblivious to the fact that Cassidy had betrayed him (possibly motivated by Cassidy being jealous that his father favored Logan more than his youngest son) and called Veronica to come help him. This led to Sheriff Lamb breaking the news to Logan that it was Veronica who was to blame for his arrest.
After being released on bail, Logan confronted Veronica and the two had an emotional conversation in which Logan pled his innocence:
- Logan: You know... I... I knew Lilly was seeing someone. It was driving me crazy. When I left for Neptune, I didn't know if I was gonna scream at her for treating me like dirt or beg her to take me back. And I saw her at the car wash.
- Veronica: I didn't see you there.
- Logan: Well, I just parked across the street and watched her. And this feeling came over me, you know, I don’t…I don’t know how to describe it but I just knew it was over. So I sat in my car and I wrote this note to her, explaining it.
- Veronica: Did you give it to her?
- Logan: Yeah, I left it in the car.
- Veronica: With the shot glass.
- Logan: Yeah, with the shot glass. You know, if you read that letter, you'd know I'd never hurt her.
In order to find the note that Logan wrote Lilly, Veronica snuck into a party being thrown at the Kane estate by dressing up as a waiter. Duncan caught her checking the vents in Lilly's room (a popular hiding spot of Lilly's) and after a tense confrontation, convinced Duncan to let her retrieve the letter. Instead of a letter, they found a set of video tapes, featuring Lilly having sex with Aaron Echolls.
Veronica rushed to get the tapes to the authorities and dealt with a now deranged Aaron Echolls attempting to murder her, in order to stop Veronica from exposing him as the murderer. Meanwhile, at the same time, a drunk and despondent Logan headed to the Coronado Bridge to tempt fate and possibly jump. Though, he was prevented from doing anything serious due to Weevil and his fellow PCH bikers. Weevil, much like Logan, was still haunted by his love of Lilly Kane and was consumed with anger at Logan, and wanted to inflict vigilante justice to ensure Logan would pay for "murdering" the woman he loved. Weevil was taken out of the fight immediately when Logan took advantage of a temporary distraction and kicked him in the head, rendering him unconscious. However, the PCHers beat Logan to within an inch of his life and left Weevil's two top underlings, Thumper and Felix, to finish Logan off.
What happened next would be the subject of much mystery as Logan's drinking left him with blurry memories of what ultimately happened next: Thumper suddenly turned against Felix, killing his fellow biker and planting the murder weapon on Logan to frame him for the crime. The murder was part of a complex scheme by Thumper to curry favor with the Irish crime family known as the Fitzpatricks, who were furious that Felix was dating the daughter of a high ranking Fitzpatricks gang member. Logan would be the scapegoat and Thumper's vile scheme would soon bear bitter fruit for Logan.
In the final scene of the first season, a tired Veronica is met by a stranger who she was hoping would visit her. Fans eagerly speculated as to the identity of the person at Veronica's door and season two opened with a horribly beaten Logan being revealed as the man at the door. Due to his drinking, Logan barely remembered anything that had happened to him save for the fact that he was fighting for his life and not succeeding. When he came to he found that there was a knife in his hand and Felix (one of the motorcycle gang members) was lying dead on the ground. Logan said that he didn't kill Felix and Veronica believed him. But the police didn't, and Logan was quickly arrested for murder. Logan's case went to a grand jury, who refused to indict due to lack of evidence. The grand jury's decision, combined with the fact that his father had been revealed to be the murderer of Lilly Kane, caused the non-09er residents of Neptune to vilify Logan as yet another spoiled white rich kid who got away with murder. Logan responded to his new pariah status by retreating into his old behavior patterns of being an "obligatory psychotic jackass". With Dick and Cassidy Casablancas at his side, Logan burned down public pool facilities in Neptune so as to punish the poor residents of the town who used the public pool complex.
Veronica tried to stay loyal to her boyfriend, though the strain ensured that the two never consummated their relationship. In the season two premire episode "Normal Is the Watchword," it is revealed via flashback that Veronica broke up with Logan after making an emotional plea to Logan to stop the cycle of violence he was becoming trapped in:
- Logan: Are you breaking up with me?
- Veronica: I can't stay with you. Not with you and your toadies cruising around at night and hatching plans, refusing to let everything get back to normal. Someone's gonna get killed, Logan.
- Logan: Someone already has, did you forget that already? And most of the people in this town think I did it.
- [Logan shifts up to sit on the arm of the couch, becoming increasingly emotional.]
- Logan: Those people you call "toadies" are my friends; they've got my back.
- Veronica: [urgently] It's not about protection, Logan. It's about pride.
- [Logan puts his hand to his forehead as if pained.]
- Veronica: And, the thing that I can't stand is that…I'm pretty sure there's a part of you that's having fun with all of this.
- Logan: Fun? Fun?!
- [He gets up to leave, then spins back around, smashing a lamp.]
- Logan: [angrily] My mom is dead! My girlfriend is dead! My dad is a murderer! And the only person I still care about is dumping me. You think I'm having fun?
Veronica's father then entered the room and ordered Logan to leave and never come near his daughter again. Further adding to the fire was Veronica's reconciliation with Duncan. Since the spectre of incest had been removed with the revelation that Veronica was not Jake Kane's illegitimate daughter, the two reconciled much to Logan's horror. His response was to secretly begin an affair with Kendall Casablancas, the young con-artist/trophy-wife/step-mother of Dick and Cassidy. His affair with Kendall was derailed though when the murder charges against Logan were refiled after a witness came forward, though Veronica and Logan quickly discovered that the witness was a plastic surgeon who was implicating Logan as a means to pay off a large drug debt to the Fitzpatricks. However, an unexpected ally emerged in the form of Eli "Weevil" Navarro. Weevil was Felix's best friend and began a war against Logan, which culminated in Weevil burning down the Echolls family mansion, a move that forced Logan to move into a nearby hotel as his new home.
Despite his initial belief that Logan murdered Felix, Weevil soon suspected Thumper had murdered Felix and framed Logan on behalf of the Fitzpatricks. As the two enemies conspired to expose Thumper, Thumper struck first and used Weevil's alliance with Logan to usurp control over the PCH biker gang from Weevil, allowing Thumper to form an alliance between the PCHers and the Fitzpatricks involving the Irish gang's drug trade.
Knowing that the new witness against him was tied to the Fitzpatricks, Logan engaged in psychological war against the witness by dating his daughter, Hannah. The mind games climaxed when Logan revealed to Hannah that her father was a cocaine addict and then threatened her father with the possibility that he would seduce Hannah (who was a virgin) into having sex with him if he didn't recant his testimony. Dr. Griffith recanted, though Logan had developed feelings for the daughter and sought to continue their relationship. When Hannah was caught with Logan again, she was shipped off to a Vermont boarding school. Later, Logan unknowingly caused the death of Thumper after Weevil manipulated events so that Thumper would be betrayed by the Irish crime syndicate and chained in the bathroom of a stadium that Logan (who had won an essay contest) was allowed to ceremonially demolish.
Vindicated of all charges of being a murderer, Logan began to mend his fences with Veronica, who now was single again after her relationship with Duncan ended with him fleeing the country with his infant daughter. On the night of the alterna-prom Logan had thrown for his classmates, he drunkenly confessed his feelings of love for Veronica and compared their relationship to an "epic" romance "spanning years and continents" with "lives ruined" and "bloodshed." Veronica, shocked at Logan's declaration of love for her fled from the party in shock. When she returned the next morning, Veronica planned on telling Logan that she still loved him too but was horrified when she was met by a hung-over Logan, who did not remember his heartfelt speech. Further twisting the knife into her heart, Logan had responded to Veronica's apparent rejection by contacting Kendall and having a one-night stand with her. Veronica quickly fled in order to keep Logan from seeing how heartbroken she was. Days later, the two opted to deal with the utter awkwardness of what had happened that night and morning after with denial, as the two pretended that nothing happened.
Things would come to a head though with the post-graduation ceremony party Logan threw for his classmates. Prior to the party, Veronica had realized that not only had Cassidy Casablancas raped her (thus giving her chlamydia--a clue), but that he was personally responsible for the murder of more than a half-dozen of his fellow students at the start of school year. Confronting Cassidy, Veronica was quickly overpowered and sent a desperate S.O.S. call to Logan to save her. Logan arrived just in time to save Veronica's life and keep her from shooting Cassidy, who had also detonated a bomb that she thought had killed her father as his plane flew over the city of Neptune moments earlier. Cassidy then sought to kill himself, when Logan referred to Cassidy by his much-hated nickname "Beaver." Cassidy demanded that Logan give him a reason to live, now that his crimes were going to be exposed. Logan said nothing and along with Veronica, watched as Cassidy jumped to his death. Furthermore, as Logan fought to save his girlfriend, his father (staying at the same hotel as his son) was murdered by Kane family employee Clarence Wiedman in retaliation for Lilly's murder.
Now freed of his father, Logan and Veronica reconciled and resumed dating and ultimately consummated their relationship. With his father gone, Logan has sought to change his life and become a better person through the love of Veronica. As such, Logan enrolled in college at Hearst University, which has served as a place where Logan has been able to escape the notoriety of his family and his own past legal problems.
As Logan has begun the process of growing up into adulthood, his relationship with Veronica hit the skids due to Logan becoming worried about Veronica's safety and her continual obsession with putting herself in harm's way while trying fight the forces of evil as a detective. Making things even more complicated was his friendship with Mercer Hayes, an older college student who was terrorizing Hearst College by raping women with the help of a Residence Hall Advisor he had met while part of a prison experiment that the psychology department ran each year. Mercer was arrested for one of the rapes but was released when the rape Mercer was accused of committing turned out to be a fake orchestrated by a group of anti-fraternity feminists, as Logan was with Mercer, who had burnt down a motel that the two were staying in during a trip to Tijuana.
Though she had cleared Mercer, Veronica's continued quest to catch the rapist(s) led to Mercer and his accomplice to attack Veronica after drugging her drink in the school cafeteria. But by sheer luck, Logan was able to save Veronica as her attacker had just begun shaving her head (Mercer's calling card for his victims). This led to Logan begging Veronica to stop the investigations, out of fear for her own safety and even hired a bodyguard to secretly protect Veronica, which only angered her more.
Realizing that Veronica would never stop her investigations and that she was starting to resent Logan for being overprotective of her, Logan promptly told Veronica that he wanted out of their relationship. His logic for dumping Veronica was based upon wanting to salvage their friendship, since he felt that if they stayed together that their friendship would be ruined just like their romantic relationship. In spite of this though, Logan sprang into action to help Veronica try and protect a girl who may have been a target of the rapist by driving over to her home to ensure her safety. And when he learned that Mercer was the rapist, Logan took his baseball bat and destroyed a police car's windshield in order to be arrested, so that he could purposely be placed the holding cell along with Mercer so that he could get revenge for Mercer's attack on Veronica.
When Veronica realized that you very rarely find truly good people in life, thanks to a speech made by Piz, she showed up at Logan's door, and the two passionatly embraced, yet again getting back together.
Just as Veronica and Logan begin dating again she finds out he had slept with Madison Sinclair during the time they broke up. Veronica ends the relationship, saying she'll "never get past this," due to the fact that Madison was responsible for drugging Veronica when Veronica was raped by Cassidy Casablancas. The break-up causes Logan to stay in his hotel room for days, moping about. He tries to get her back by leaving her a heartfelt and emotional voice mail message, but Veronica only listens to the first few seconds before deleting it. Logan continues to stay in his hotel room, unshaven and unshowered and generally unresponsive, until he has to baby sit Heather. Heather is the younger sister of Dick's newest conquest, and she stays with Logan while Dick and his girlfriend go to Las Vegas. After a few days of staying with Heather she finds out about Veronica and Logan's breakup and tries to get them back together. This goes so far as requesting love songs (partnered with an apology coming from Logan) to the local radio station. When Veronica hears the message, she ignores it and turns the radio off. Later on when Veronica is looking to find out who killed Dean Cyrus O'Dell she finds herself in the elevator with Logan and Heather. Heather starts telling Veronica of Logan's feelings. The elevator ride ends before anything can come of this confession. Logan, although initially angry at Heather for her actions, soon forgives her and comes to a quiet revelation. After Heather leaves with her sister, Logan is finally able to leave his hotel room and go back to class.
When Veronica is (incorrectly) arrested for helping someone escape from jail, Logan goes to visit her, stating that they're adults and can be mature despite the way they broke up. He then gets roped into a Valentine's Day scavenger hunt with Mac, her new boyfriend, and Parker. He and Parker hit it off and Logan is seen by Veronica smiling and eating with an equally happy Parker. Template:Endspoiler
