Programs Offered

Tampa Bay Tech is a magnet and technical school featuring numerous programs:

Technology Programs

Magnet Programs

Academy of Health

The Health program is broken up into several fields during students' senior or junior years, depending on the specialty, such as Radiology, Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy, Veterinary Assistant, Medical Laboratory, Pharmacy, Vision Specialist, Dental Care, and LPN (nursing). The LPN program requires a great deal more study than any other program, and for this reason chooses its members much sooner than any other program. Students choose which field they desire to move into and apply to these programs. The specialty has the option of refusing any student, however most students are placed in the field they desire.

Academy of Architecture

The Academy of Architecture has classes in two separate rooms, each a fully-functioning lab. The students learn fundamental skills about the architecture field and practice computer-aided design as well as manual drafting. Students enter several contests throughout the year e.g. a local drafting and design competition at the strawberry festival, national drafting and design competitions with SkillsUSA, and the West Point Bridge Design Contest.

Ronald Brill

Ronald Brill instructs freshmen, sophomores, and juniors. His classroom is partitioned, dividing it into two sections. One section seats students at traditional school desks, while the other section is home to a CAD lab consisting of twenty student computer terminals and a network printer for student use.

David Carrier

David Carrier teaches juniors once daily, as well as seniors for two periods each day. This classroom is significantly larger, and it is therefore in this space that students create scale models. This lab also contains two dozen computers for student use. The desks in this room are designed to facilitate manual drafting, an important part of the curriculum.

School of Business

Many business certificates can be earned in fields such as Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, and Web Design.

Club Involvement

Clubs are plentiful in the school and some nationwide clubs include chapters at Tampa Bay Tech. Clubs are divided into Career, Service, Interest and Honors Clubs. Career and Service Clubs meet on the same day, and Interest and Honors Clubs meet on the same days. These list are incomplete:
