Newspapers.com article on Marjorie Meinel

Hello, I'm needing help from anyone with access to Newspapers.com for an article from the Arizona Daily Star.

  • "Many Lives of Marjorie Meinel: Versatile Solar Energy Expert". Arizona Daily Star. 8 July 1976.

It's for an article I am writing on American astronomer Marjorie Meinel (1922–2008). If anyone can send me a copy that would be brill!

Bartleby Research: Who Are The Descendants Of Troy

{{Resolved}}

Hoping to use this as a jumping off point (not treating it as a reliable source itself, but a guide to help find other sources, and see if I've missed anything) for articles related to the Trojan War, and its influence on medieval literature. Can't find the article anywhere else online, and it's behind a paywall at Bartleby.

Thanks, ‑‑YodinT 21:56, 23 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Yodin, how about sending the author an email and explaining what you want to use it for? It's only 355 words (of which more than 100 are visible), however, so might not be too helpful. --Usernameunique (talk) 03:57, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yodin, any luck with the above approach? --Usernameunique (talk) 05:39, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Usernameunique brilliant idea! I hadn't considered that word count either, though there's a chance that it still might mention one or two sources that don't have any coverage here. I've just got around to sending him an email now. Thanks for this (and the follow-up!) I'll update if I get a reply. ‑‑YodinT 12:52, 13 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No reply yet, but I'm marking as resolved for now, as they'll either reply, or it's a dead end; either way thanks for the suggestions! ‑‑YodinT 14:43, 19 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

For Eastern Bloc. A malformed reference was added to Eastern Bloc economies in 2012, which was then merged into Eastern Bloc in 2015. I've just corrected all the other reference issue in the article, apart from one that I believe is referring to the specified dissertation at ProQuest, unfortunately it is unavailable through the Wikipedia Library.

Possibly will require Interlibrary loan

For Lina Schwarz

Apparently the book is digitized but I can't locate an open access version anywhere in Mexico.

Thanks, SusunW (talk) 19:19, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I do not think that the book is digitized except by HathiTrust which is inaccessible to all. TrangaBellam (talk) 19:29, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
TrangaBellam, not actually true. HathiTrust books out of copyright are available to anyone. Versions of books not out of copyright are available to people who have visual difficulties, thus some copies are available and we might have editors who have access. However, as I said at the top, ILL may be the way it has to be acquired. During the covid shutdowns, I was often able to use the "ask a librarian" from Worldcat and obtain either digitized material or libraries would scan and send non-digitized materials to me. Since libraries have reopened, their usual response is that the item is only available through interlibrary loan, even after I have explained that I do not live in a place where that is an option. My option is to ask here, or disregard the source, but usually someone at this helpful exchange has been able to find what I seek. SusunW (talk) 22:17, 10 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
