Blaqk Audio is an electronic side project started by Jade Puget and Davey Havok of AFI.

Early developments

On January 9th, Jade Puget posted on his blog Shy Boys Win : "All the rest of my hours have been spent slaving on Blaqk Audio. We're entering the studio in a matter of days to record vocals.

We're very excited. I'll be posting a tracklisting and an album title when it's finalized. We also have a website, blaqkaudio.com, which will be undergoing a major transformation very soon. If I have any time I'm going to try to put together a couple of simple t-shirt designs too. In the meantime I thought I'd post lyrics to one of the songs, just so you know I'm not lying about us finally putting out this album."

He also revealed that the lyrics would be written by Davey and the music/programming would be done by himself.

In an entry he posted on the January 16th, he provided images of Davey recording in the studio: "Day 2 of vocals. We've already finished 8 songs. We would have finished the whole thing this week but Saturday Night Live came up. Certainly can't complain about that though. Can't wait for everyone to hear these songs, they're coming out fabulously. There's also going to be some surprise guest appearances, surprising even to us. Here's a couple of pictures that I took (horribly) yesterday."

On February 21st, Jade revealed that ideas for an album cover were already underway as well as three more songs being recorded.

On February 24th, a blog was posted on the band's MySpace page, revealing: "The music, which the world hasn't heard a single note of yet, runs the gamut of electronic music, from dark to dancy to grinding.

There is a full album nearing completion and will most likely be released within the next couple of months."

Another blog posted by Davey revealed more about the project, foreseeing a summer release.

In March 2007 a countdown to the song "Bitter For Sweet" was posted, and a new Myspace layout by Alexa Dunham were added to the Blaqk Audio Myspace.

Guest Collaborations

According to Tiger Army's MySpace, Nick 13 provided some backing vocals on the upcoming album.

Lyrics

The lyrics for three songs have been released.

So she found him in a sprawl, collapsed and glowing pale on the ground. His hair spread like a melting angel like a fire crawling across the floor. In this moment, in this still inchoate she loves him. In this moment, in this light she loves him like no one has. He held onto elegance easily. She'd never seen him this way. She holds on to this picture lit perfectly and she holds the dust forever. So he finds her in a sprawl, woven deep in memories revisited and reworked. The scars get covered up with cherry blossoms that never felt as soft as this He held onto elegance easily. She'd never seen him this way. She Holds on to this picture lit perfectly and she holds the dust forever. Freeze the frame right here he found the perfect pose. It comes to him naturally. Freeze the frame right there he found the perfect pose It came to him naturally. Surely you must remember him?

Can you tell me what stopped the rain? Where is salvation? Science, saviors, tragedy?

May I lead the way into temptation? Sirens screaming just for me and the void remains.

Would you save my life if you knew why this is the last time? I'm leaving without you. Could you save my life had the boy that you knew not died? This is the last time. I'm leaving with out you in silence.

Can you tell me what stops the pain? Self medication? Science, saviors, tragedy?

How deep must we cut to reach sensation? Find it. Bring it back to me where the void remains.

Walk with me my one and only... find with me the end.

Walk with me my one and only silence.

If you knew would you save me?

Can you tell me what stopped the rain? Can you tell me what stopped it? If you knew would you save me?

We are all still the same dear. I have owned this life forever, I'll always remain.

If it's just the same dear, why have you left before "forever" yet returned again?

If you show me heaven I will meet you there.

How it breaks their hearts that we've made and art of desecrating our sanctuaries.

We're one and the same dear, you were born for this. Forever forget your restraint.

Remnants of a past here pass like light through dust as memories fall fleeting like pain.

If you show me heaven I will meet you there.
