COUM Transmissions

gruppo musicale britannico

COUM Transmissions è stato un gruppo di performance art influensati dal Dada e dal Merry Pranksters.

Formati ad Hull (Yorkshire) nel 1969 da Genesis P.-Orridge e Cosey Fanni Tutti. Le loro azioni sono caratterizzate da una forte componente autolesionista che funge spesso da detonatore per una guerriglia psicologica finalizzata alla trasgressione delle regole sociali e contestazione nei confronti del puritanesimo stratificato. Fecero inoltre parte del gruppo Foxtrot Echo (or Echo Foxxtrot), Fizzey Peet, Peter "Sleazy" Christopherson and Chris Carter. Il gruppo fu attivo fino al 1976, quando cambiò nome per diventare Throbbing Gristle.
