Easycore
L'easycore (noto anche come popcore, dudecore, softcore, happy hardcore, "bro" pop punk e EZ[1]) è una fusione di pop punk, metalcore, melodic hardcore e post-hardcore[1]. Tra i gruppi più influenti ci sono i Chunk! No, Captain Chunk![2], gli A Day to Remember[3], i Set Your Goals[1] e i Four Year Strong[1].

Caratteristiche
L'easycore associa le sonorità pesanti dell'hardcore punk e dell'heavy metal, con l'utilizzo di tecniche death come growl, screaming e breakdown[4], al canto pulito e al sound più melodico e positivo del pop punk, a volte utlizzando anche sintetizzatori[1].
Storia
Il genere è nato all'inizio degli anni 2000 con l'uscita del secondo album, omonimo, dei New Found Glory e con canzoni come Fat Lip dei Sum 41[1].
Il genere ottenne popolarità verso la metà del decennio con album come Mutiny! dei Set Your Goals (2006), Rise or Die Trying dei Four Year Strong (2007)[1] e Get Stoked on It dei The Wonder Years (2007)[5]. I New Found Glory, paladini del genere[6], nel 2008 diedero vita all'"Easycore Tour" insieme agli A Day to Remember[7]. Gli stessi A Day to Remember si fecero notare per la caratteristica mescolanza di metalcore e pop punk, ravvisabile nel disco maggiormente easycore Homesick[8][9]. I Chunk! No, Captain Chunk! si affermarono come uno dei gruppi più influenti nel genere[2]. Un'altra band attiva nel genere sono stati i Veara[10].
Nel decennio successivo la popolarità dell'easycore è diminuito, nonostante siano sorti nuovi gruppi che portano avanti questo genere, come i Back Garden Light[11][12], i For the Win[13], i Me Vs Hero[14], i City Lights[15], gli Abandoned by Bears[16] e i Carousel Kings[17].
La scena italiana
In Italia l'easycore ha trovato popolarità tra le band sulla scia di New Found Glory, A Day to Remember e Set Your Goals, verso il 2010: esempi di questi gruppi sono i Melody Fall[18], i New Reason[19], i 4th 'N Goal[20], i Why Everyone Left[21][22][23], i Feelbacks[24], i Well Planned Attack[25] e i Summer of Hoaxes[26].
