Beedlebaum: A mishearing of "Feitlebaum," the winner of a horse race narrated in a song (a version of the William Tell Overture) produced by a band, Spike Jones and the City Slickers, in the 1940's. The distinctive final phrase of the song, "Fei-tle-baum" is sung in bass voice in two descending notes.
