Simplilearn (/sɪmplɪlɝn/) is a global online education technology company headquartered in San Francisco, California. It was founded by Indian engineer Krishna Kumar in 2010.[1] Currently, it has offices in Raleigh, North Carolina and Bangalore, India.[2]

In June 2018, it crossed 1 million students on its platform from 150 countries.[3]

Simplilearn was founded in 2010 by Indian entrepreneur Krishna Kumar, an alumnus of the National Institute of Technology, Suratkal.[4][5][6][7] Initially, Simplilearn started as a technology blog. However, it later evolved into a training website for topics related to project management.[8]

As of 2020, the company's learning portal provides online certifications (MOOC) related to cybersecurity, cloud computing[9], project management, digital marketing, and data science.[10]

Funding

So far, the company has raised $31 million in capital from investors such as Innoven Capital, Helion Venture Partner, Kalaari Capital, and Mayfield Fund.[11]

Strategic Partnerships

As a company, it is collaborating with universities in North America to provide basic and mid-career skill enhancement programs through MOOC.[12]

In June 2019, Simplilearn and IBM jointly designed and launched courses in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.[13] In November 2019, Simplilearn partnered with Purdue University to offer courses in artificial intelligence and machine learning.[14][15] In July 2020, the company entered into a partnership with University of Massachusetts Amherst to provide online training solutions to its students and alumni through "University Without Walls".[16] Simplilearn - Center for Technology and Management Education (CalTech-CTME) jointly offering a "DevOps Post Graduate" program, a cloud computing course.[17]
