CASS (Coding Accuracy Support System) enables the United States Postal Service to evaluate the accuracy of address-matching software programs. CASS is offered to all mailers, service bureaus, and software vendors who want to evaluate their address-matching software and improve the quality of their ZIP+4, carrier route, and five-digit coding accuracy.
CASS certified products are listed in U.S. Post Office literature and on their web site. CASS certification only lasts for one calendar year. Applications must be certified again each year by submitting test data to CASS online. The online certification process has greatly improved the turnaround of the program with most results being processed within 24 hours.
