Array processing

Array processing consists of using an array of sensors to:

  • Enhance the signal-to-noise ratio compared to that of a single sensor (through e.g. beamforming).
  • Determine the number of emitting sources, the locations of these sources, and their waveforms.
  • Track energy sources moving through space.
  • To Provide Multiple Access namely Space Division Multiple Access( SDMA).
