Configurable Network Computing or CNC refers to an ERP systems architecture developed by the JDEdwards Company, (purchased by PeopleSoft, which was, in turn, purchased by Oracle) to denote their ERP systems architecture. In the CNC architecture, business applications run transparently insulated from both the back-end database as well as the underlying operating system. Systems analysists that work in this field are also called CNCs.
