Coppell High School

Coppell High School is a secondary school located in Coppell, Texas, a suburb of Dallas. Currently, it is the only high school in the Coppell Independent School District. The school graduated its first class of twenty-three students in 1965. As of the 2004-2005 school year, current enrollment is 2,933 students in grades 9-12. Athletic teams are known as the "Cowboys", the school colors are red, black and white.

Recent News

The school's population has grown increasingly in the past decade, prompting the Texas University Interscholastic League to upgrade Coppell High School from the 4A classification to 5A status for academic and athletic competition.

Honors and Accolades

Coppell High School was cited among the top four percent of "America's Best High Schools" by Newsweek in their May 2003 issue [1] and was named among Texas' "Top 10 High Schools" by the National Center for Educational Accountability. The Coppell High School Band has been the recipient of a number of awards and the Coppell High School Music Program was named "the best in the nation", according to the National Music Educators Association. [2] In addition, the school is known for its state-of-the-art athletic facilities including an indoor fieldhouse that the Dallas Cowboys have been known to practice at during inclement weather.[3]
