Tiscali SpA is a modern Telecom company based in Italy, expressing avant-garde techniques on the Internet . Based in Sardinia, it expanded quickly during the dot.com boom, acquiring, in quick succession, World Online (Holland), Liberty Surf (France) and LineOne (UK). This growth made it the third largest Internet Service Provider in Europe. Its founder, Renato Soru, was elected president of the Sardinian Autonomous Region in 2004. The company was named for the nuragic village (see above).

Tiscali is a challenger ISP which is present in an ever-shrinking number of countries. It has quite a mountain of debt and industry analysts are concerned about how they can pay it back. Tiscali's answer was to sell its French business to Telecom Italia.

It has purple-decorated offices in London, which is kinda funky, in a 90s sort of way...
