Raymond Lesniak

Raymond J. Lesniak (born May 7, 1946) has been a New Jersey State Senator since 1983. Before entering New Jersey's upper house, the Senate, Lesniak served in the General Assembly from 1978 to 1983.

Senator Lesniak has been involved in not only state politics, but national politics as well over the course of his tenure. In 1996, he was Chairman of the NJ Clinton-Gore Presidential Campaign, and in 2000 he was a key insider in the Al Gore campaign. However, before these endeavors, Lesniak served as Chairman of the State Democratic Committee, and Chairman of the 1997 Jim McGreevey for Governor campagin.

Currently Senator Lesniak is the Chairman of the Economic Growth Committee, Vice Chairman of the Legislative Oversight, and a member of the Senate Commerce Committee.
