Tine (company)

Tine is a large Norwegian milk co-operative consisting of around 18'500 farmers, and 5'500 employees. It is running a near monopoly in Norway, with a turnaround of around NOK 14'000'000 (~$2 billion). Its only internationally known product is Jarlsberg. Notable subsidiaries which are partly or fully owned:

  • Diplom-IS, Scandinavia's largest ice-cream producer.
  • Fjordland, a ready-made food company.
