Aleramo, Marquis of Montferrat

Aleramo di Savona (?-991) was marquess of Montferrat (Piedmont), and Liguria in Northern Italy until 991. Originally a subject to the Kings of Italy, he had also married a daughter of the king. When Italy came under the direct control of the Holy Roman Empire in 962, Aleramo's titles were confirmed by the Emperor Otto I.

He married Gerberga, a daughter of Berengar of Ivrea, the last King of Italy before it was united with the Holy Roman Empire. They had two sons:

  • Oddone, died bef. 991. His som succeeded to Montferrat.
  • Anselmo, succeeded to Liguria.
