The International Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression (NIME) is dedicated to scientific research on the development of new technologies for musical expression and artistic performance. Researchers and musicians from all over the world gather to share their knowledge and late-breaking work on new musical interface design. The conference started out as a workshop at the ACM Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems (CHI) in 2001. Since then, international conferences have been held annually around the world. The next meeting of NIME is scheduled to take place in Paris, France in June 2006 and will be hosted by IRCAM, the Sorbonne, and the European branch of Sony Computer Science Labs.
