Repliee Q1 is a lifelike robot unveiled at the Expo 2005 in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. Built in the appearance of a young woman of asian descent, Repliee Q1 mimics such lifelike gestures as eye blinks, speaking, and breathing. The robot is dressed in a pink jacket, white shirt, slacks, and lace gloves, with long black hair, and skin composed of silicone.

Internal sensors allow the robot to react naturally by way of 31 points of articulation in the upper body. Movement is powered by an external air compressor. The robot is quick enough to react react to or fend off a slap and immitates humans with slights shifts in position, and the appearance of breathing in the chest.

Additionally, Repliee Q1 can further immitate human movement made by a human by facing a person with reflective dots placed at key points on the body. The robot then matches those points on its own body.
