A Stronghold in Canadian Politics is a slang term for a riding in which a party consistently wins by large margins and is considered a safe riding for that party despite who their candidate is. Typically Canadian Political Parties do not campaign heavily in Strongholds, prefering to direct funds towards contestable ridings. The term Stronghold is used in converstion and printed media with the name of the party preceding stronghold. For example: "That riding is an NDP Stronghold."

The best example of a Stronghold is the Riding of Wild Rose in southern Alberta. The incumbent (Myron Thompson) won %71 compared to %13 for his closest rival, giving him the largest margin of victory in Canada.
