Russell Ira Crowe was born on April 7, 1964 in New Zealand. When he was very young, he moved to Australia, later dropping out of high school.
He became a Hollywood actor, and won the Academy Award for Best Actor in 2001 for Gladiator and was nominated for the award in 2000 for The Insider and in 2002 for A Beautiful Mind.
On April 7, 2003 (his 39th birthday), Crowe married the singer Danielle Spencer, and they are expecting their first child in January 2004.
