Constantin Sănătescu (1885 - November 8 1947) was a Romanian statesman that was the first Prime Minister of Romania after the 23 August 1944 coup.

He was a military attaché of Romania at Paris and then at London. He became a general in 1935 and was named deputy chief of the general staff in 1937. He led the Romanian delegation to Moscow in 1940, after the beginning of World War II.

The pro-German dictatorship of Marshall Ion Antonescu was overthrown on 23 August, 1944 and he was charged by King Michael of Romania with the forming of a new government. He tried unsuccesfully to strengthen the ties with the United States to save Romania from a Soviet Communist occupation and he was forced to resign on December 2 of the same year.
