Ha Tinh (in Vietnamese, Hà Tĩnh) is a Province of Vietnam.

Population: 1,283,900 (2003)
Capital: Thị xã Hà Tĩnh
Ethnicities: Việt (Kinh), Thái, Chứt, Mường.

Geography

Ha Tinh Province is located in the Northern part of central Vietnam, about 340km south of Ha Noi, facing Nghệ An province in the North, Quảng Bình in the South, Laos in the West, and the South China Sea in the East.

Area: 6.056 km2

Administration

Administrative districts: Nghi Xuân, Đức Thọ, Hương Sơn, Can Lộc, Thạch Hà, Hương Khê, Cẩm Xuyên, Kỳ Anh, Vũ Quang, Thị xã Hồng Lĩnh, Thị xã Hà Tĩnh.

Tourism

Ha Tinh has many touristic locations of historical and cultural interest. It is home to national figures such as Nguyen Du, Nguyen Cong Tru, Phan Đinh Phung, Ha Huy Tap, Ngo Ðuc Ke, Huy Cận. Notable scenic areas include Vũ Môn Falls, Garden Vũ Quang, Lake Kẻ Gỗ, hot springs Sơn Kim, Pass đèo Ngang, pagoda Hương Tích, Hòn Bớc, Hòn Lám, and beautiful beaches at Thiên Cầm, Ðèo Con, Xuân Thành, Chân Tiên. Most of these are along the routes 1A and 8.
