Following her very successful stints as bassist for both Hole and The Smashing Pumpkins, Melissa Auf Der Maur decided to dust off her own collection of tracks and make a record. The songs were written over a 10 year period. Featuring some very prolific guests, ranging from former bandmates Eric Erlandson (Hole) and James Iha (The Smashing Pumpkins) to Queens of the Stone Age front-man Josh Homme, Auf Der Maur is an extremely powerful and provocative record. Following her successful UK tour, the singles Followed the Waves and Real A Lie both broke into the UK Top 40, a huge achievement for a relatively new rock outfit. Currently in the studio writing and recording the second album, we can expect on heck of a powerful second album.
