Nibble mode

Is this description of plip as using nibble mode in fact correct. Certainly the version I have built in the past uses only the handshake lines not the data. Several people have attempted to use the data lines, which is the obvious way, but unfortunately there is a risk in having both ends of the line in transmit at the same time, which would stuff the interface. I think people have claimed to implement nibble-mode but this is not what is used in the 2.2 linux kernel. Bob aka Linuxlad (talk) 10:11, 30 August 2008 (UTC)Reply
