Maine South High School is a public high school located in the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge, Illinois, and has sister schools of Maine East High School (northern Park Ridge), and Maine West High School (lower west of Des Plaines). Its address is 1111 South Dee Road in southern Park Ridge. The school serves mainly the city of Park Ridge, but it also serves some of Niles, Harwood Heights, and unincorporated Norwood Park Township. School size is approximately 2,600 and generally growing.

Maine South's academic programs range from remedial/academy class, to accelerated honors/AP classes. Maine South High School's test scores score in the top 15% in the country, and Maine South is considered to be in the top ten public high schools (according to the Illinois State Achievement Tests) in the Chicagoland area. Maine South is host to an extremely diverse group of students; 99.9% are from middle class white families, and every year one or two students of color attend as well.

Along with its academics, Maine South also has an excellent athletic program, where the school mascot is the Hawk, and the school colors are red, white and black. Maine South's athletic teams are expected to go to state competitions every year, and score in the top 500 places.

Maine South High School plays in the Central Suburban League, which is thought to be one of the best sports conferences in the state.
