Spring Spree

Spring Spree is an annual 3-day festival held by the students of the National Institute of Technology, Warangal. It began in 1982, when the class of ’82 made a decision begin a festival that would allow people of various talents from all over the country to meet and partake in competition. Spring Spree consists of cultural activities involving dance, music, art, literary and quizzing activities, as well as performances from professional artists.

Pro nights

On these nights, artists perform live. In previous years both bands and solo artists have performed.

Music

The 2009 rock music competition is planned to be broadcast live on national television.

Art

Art is a big part of Spring Spree. For amateur artists, this is a chance for them to show off their work. The national level art exhibition, Chitr is also a part of Spring Spree.

Dance & Dramatics

Over the last few years, dance and drama have seen a large surge in fans. Choreo nights are popular, and much-enjoyed by the population. Though not as popular as the dance events, dramatics enjoys a following at the fest too.

Literary and Debating

Over the years, the literary circle at NITW has evolved to a high level. The literary and debating events often see the best talents across the country coming to compete.

Quizzing

Quizzing at NIT Warangal has been going on for a long time, and Spring Spree has had quizzing since it began.

Organization

The Spring Spree is a student festival, solely conducted by the student community of the college. Spring Spree has its core committee of students who are designated core areas of responsibility, thus making the whole process function specific. The core areas are

  4. Logistics
  5. Hospitality
  6. Pro nights

A student coordinator oversees the Spree work and works in close conjunction with a university appointed staff advisor.
