History

Providence Day was founded in 1970 as a coed, independent, college preperatory school by James Williams, Thomas Ridenhour, and Gilbert Bell, local residents of southeastern Charlotte, North Carolina. Rumors abound as to whether its original purpose was to combat desegregation, but regardless, it has grown into a pretty sweet place to get schooled.
