LabChart (formerly known as Chart) is a data acquisition software package produced by ADInstruments. It functions like a traditional multi-channel chart recorder, X–Y plotter, polygraph and digital voltmeter. The software records up to 16 data channels and 32 analysis channels in a single file on computer hard disks. Some data sources can also be controlled using the software.

The software has the ability to control hardware settings, real-time and offline analysis without the loss of raw data, procedure automation via editable macros, and multiple block samplings for the recording and settings of different signals within one file [1]. It has built-in Microsoft digitally signed drivers for use with Windows XP and Windows Vista and Universal Binary software application to support both Intel and Power PC Macintosh OS X.
For more in depth analysis of research studies, specialized modules are available for researchers to
- analyze cardiovascular parameters from arterial or ventricular pressure signals [2].
- calculate cardiac output from thermodilution curve.
- pre-experiment determination of optimal pretension of muscles.
- analysis of dose response type data.
- detection of PQRST onset, amplitude and interval times in electrocardiograms [3].
- the measure of the beat-to-beat variations in heart rate [4].
- the discrimination of extracellular neural spike activity [5].
- Synchronization of a live video feed with acquired data [6].
