Uroš Knežević

Uroš Knežević (Урош Кнежевић) was a Serbian painter, born in 1811 in Sremski Karlovci, and died in 1876 in Belgrade, Serbia. He studied church painting in Serbia and worldly painting in Vienna, and was much influenced by the biedermeier style. In his lifetime he was considered the foremost portraitist of Serbia.
