In organic chemistry, the saline-sodium citrate (SSC) buffer is a hybridisation buffer. It is used in molecular biology for washing and to control stringency.

The 20× stock solution consists of 3 M sodium chloride and 300 mM trisodium citrate (adjusted to pH 7.0 with HCl).
